Summary: Room 7 was tiny and TV way too small and mounted near the ceiling. Definitely in need of tlc - very uncomfortable bed. Wardrobe was built into the bathroom which is a bit odd but nowhere else for it. Breakfast was mediocre. Very friendly and helpful staff; great location and very quiet. Not bad food in the restaurant and bar very welcoming.

Summary: Having been to a golden wedding celebration at Downton Old lodge, we needed a place for an overnight stay. The Loin was perfect. Lovely old beams, comfortable room with super bathroom, good food and pleasant staff. My choice gave me a lot of brownie points from my wife!
