The Caboose (Sleeps 4)
This is an actual nostalgic turn of the century train caboose! It has one queen bedroom and a queen memory foam fold-out sofa bed in the main room. Its elegance and charm offer train enthusiasts a pleasing stay. The hot water on demand, along with 2 separately controlled shower heads offers a wonderful hot shower. This caboose is especially great for a honeymooner’s suite or the celebration of a special occasion! Works well with a couple of kids, but 4 adults find it a bit tight.
There’s no place like this in all of Greenwater. There are major hiking trails close by that lead to views of Mt. Rainier and beyond! The pristine drinking water means no more bottled water! Our water straight from the tap is cold and tastes fabulous! We are nestled between 2 major rivers that come directly from Mt. Rainier.
Next: Enjoy the state-of-the-art Jacuzzi with lighting and built-in sound system, enclosed in a beautiful cabana. Or enjoy unwinding around your bonfire pit, firewood included! For music enthusiasts, there is a guitar with tuner and picks provided. Or, just hang out on the decks listening to the babbling sounds of the Greenwater River while enjoying the landscape of the surrounding mountains and nearby 100+-year-old, majestic fir trees. Your cabin has a fully equipped kitchen and BBQ. All you need to bring is food and beverages.
We are only a 2-minute walking distance to town and local attractions including the Naches Tavern/Restaurant welcoming children. They have darts, pool tables, horseshoes, and great food. Wapiti Outdoor is well known for its huckleberry ice cream, coffee drinks, wool ski hats as well as offering many other top-quality outdoor apparel and gear. Greenwater Collective is just up the road, and offers ski tuning, as well as great snacks, wine and beer selection. With so many outdoor activities to do from a gondola ride to the mountain top restaurant only 20 minutes away to our world-class ski slopes, hiking, climbing, mountain biking, rafting, and the Mt Rainier National Park entrance is only 15 minutes away. So, come stay with us and you will surely be creating ever-lasting, cherished memories!

Summary: If you're trying to ski Crystal mountain great location! Hot tub was amazing after a day of skiing. The bathroom is just a curtain so if you are shy er maybe need to take that into consideration. The remote had dead batteries and some lights were burnt out but just little things and easy fixing! We enjoyed out stay in the Caboose

Summary: I loved the property. Very cute cabin caboose. The only thing I had a little issue with was in the add it never said the hot tub was shared. You don’t know this till you get there and see the check in book. I’m not I would of rented it had I known. Also need batteries in smoke alarms there was 2 without them. The battery for the light remote was dead so we bought one and replaced it. There does need to be a little more light. Dimable. Also we noticed there appears to be a leak on the back of the caboose.

Summary: We were totally snowed in over our 2 day stay! Caboose was cozy and warm...BUT! We would make the following recommendations:.The kitchen lighting is terrible. No way to prepare a meal without flashlights because overhead was out and too high to reach. Remote wasn't working. The branches overhanging the walkway require almost bending at the waist to get under! Particularly treacherous with ice on path. Lastly, the livingroom couch is SHOT! Uncomfortable to even sit on long enough for a movie! Can't imagine trying to sleep on it!

Summary: The Caboose was a great little stay within an hour of Mount Rainier National Park's Sunrise area, and about 1 hr, 15 mins from the Paradise area, so great access for either location. The property is located in a tucked away area but easy to find off the main highway. The sounds of the river made for pleasant mornings and the evenings were calm. The space itself was very clean, well-stocked, and a comfortable temperature (controls in unit). One thing to note is that the bathroom is separated by a curtain rather than a door so it is a bit cozier than normal, but given that this used to be a train car, they have done a great job to make it feel like a little home, complete with a full kitchen and comfortable beds.

Summary: This place was so conveniently located! Being so close to hikes as well as major cities was fantastic. When we arrived, the hot tub was empty.. which was unfortunate because we got in later at night and were looking forward to that. The next day, it was filled when we returned. The only complaint I have about that is that I really think the chemicals are overdone. I totally get cleanliness, but the chemicals + the heat makes it overbearing and hard to breathe. Otherwise, we were happy. I think the decor could use some modern updates, but that’s just a millennial’s viewpoint! Definitely recommend to anyone wanting a secluded yet conveniently located place to stay while visiting Rainier!

Summary: Loved the caboose so much! The hot tub is great, especially with windows open to the breeze, and the AC is no joke—we napped through the hottest part of the day on one of the hottest days of the year and were comfortable under covers. Lovely fire pit, everything we needed in the kitchen. Great experience. An FYI to travelers with mobility issues: There’s one very tall (8.5 inch) step up from the bedroom to the living/kitchen area that I haven’t seen mentioned in the listing or reviews. My knees are fine and that step was still enough of a challenge that I found myself avoiding it.Overall it was great, and we’re already making plans for next summer! Thank you!
