Positive: Ideal location, unique property, larger than expected, safe parking with large gates-once parked we were on foot for the duration of the break. Plenty of restaurants in area. Able to watch the lock operating and water traffic passing occasionally right in front of the house.
Negative: Crossing the road to the docks and constant sound of cars crossing the bridge, although it was background sounds and not loud enough to disturb you. Unable to open windows due to secondary glazing and very old wooden frames. Stairs were steep.
Summary: Ideal location for the docks/quays.

Negative: Only issue is some people may find the noise of the cars going over the bridge at night disturbing (1 person in our party did, the others did not).

Positive: Fabulous location in centre of Gloucester and also by the river. A historic property which was lovely, with good facilities and parking. Very good value for money.

Positive: Excellent location - docks area and cathedral in easy walking distance. Really helpful hosts - made themselves easily contactable and gave us some great recommendations for eating. All the facilities you need -the place was very well kitted out.
Negative: Front bedrooms a bit noisy due to proximity to the lock's lift bridge. Sofa in the TV room a little low for comfort for us oldies. Note the entrance to the parking area is very tight and must be taken with care.
Summary: Lovely characterful house in an excellent location for exploring Gloucester and the surrounding area
