He was always polite, friendly, and went above and beyond to assist with anything I needed. One evening, he even prepared a delicious Sri Lankan meal for me, making me feel like royalty.​ The Manor itself is a beautifully restored heritage property that exudes charm and elegance. Despite being conveniently located near the city center—just about 1.1 miles from Colombo Town Hall and 1.2 miles from Maradana Train Station—it feels like a peaceful retreat. The lush garden, complete with a pond and vibrant fish, offers a serene escape from the city's hustle and bustle.​ My room was impeccably clean and adorned with antique furniture that added to the historic ambiance of the place. The amenities, including free Wi-Fi, a satellite flat-screen TV, a washing machine, and a fully equipped kitchenette with a microwave and toaster, provided all the comforts of home.​ The Manor 1926 is truly a hidden gem in Colombo. Positive: Wasantha was a great host. He helped me organise transport from the airport to the guesthouse. Very welcoming, gave good suggestions about what to do during the day, and the best places to visit. The guesthouse was clean, comfortable and welcoming. Wasantha was extremely helpful with transport on departure.

Positive: This accommodation was phenomenal. I didn't expect to have a huge apartment all to myself. There is a huge living/kitchen space with everything you could need, a large bedroom and very fancy bathroom. There are lots of drinks and snacks available too for an additional fee if you like. The building itself is a restored historical building, which is very special. The host was incredibly accommodating and always ready to help. I got food delivery and he insisted on going out to pick it up for me. It is only a short tuktuk ride to the main attractions, and in a gated, quiet street. The price is extremely good for this property. I will definitely stay again!
Negative: There is a building site next door which is loud in the morning, but this is not a problem if you have earplugs. You also have to ask the host to let you in and out of the gate each time you leave.. this is also not a huge problem as he is always right there!
Summary: Exceptional accommodation - 5 star apartment in a beautiful historic building in Colombo!

Positive: The property was immaculately presented, spotless and very comfortable. We particularly appreciated the quality bed and bed linen. The host Wasantha is charming and very helpful. He booked tuk tuks for us, advised on places to visit and local restaurants in the area. We also enjoyed a delicious Sri Lankan dinner on our last night prepared by him and his staff. Nothing was too much trouble and our stay in Colombo would not have been the same without him.

Positive: This place is absolutely incredible with the highest level of comfort for its guests. Scrupulous attention to details means that the guests will have absolutely everything they could possibly need. They even have Netflix and the ice-cream scoop. The host is very professional and kind. I will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend.

Positive: It is located in a quiet neighbourhood. Wasantha was the best host I’ve ever had! He told me all about the local tourist attractions and gave me invaluable advice for traveling in Sri Lanka. The girl who helps him was amazing too! They occasionally gave me treats, like fresh fruit every day, which was such a thoughtful touch. The place is also huge, with an enormous living room, a fully equipped kitchen, and a working desk—very convenient if you need to work while traveling. There’s a big TV with Netflix and Amazon Prime, a spacious refrigerator, and even a mini bar stocked with various supplies. This was especially helpful since I arrived late and didn’t want to go to the shop. The hotel was incredibly clean, and both the bedroom and bathroom were very spacious. It’s also a hundred-year-old manor, which adds to its charm and beauty. The WiFi worked well too!
Negative: I have nothing but the best memories from my stay at Wasantha’s place. :) Highly recommend

Positive: The Manor is a beautiful residence, and the room was immaculate. Wasantha is a courteous and attentive host; he served tea in the mornings and evenings, and I joined him for a home-cooked dinner on one of the nights. Given the quality of the room and hospitality, the Manor is definitely value for money!
