Summary: I had an amazing stay at The Merchant in Salem. The hospitality was outstanding from the moment I arrived — the environment felt warm, welcoming, and very family-oriented. One of the highlights was definitely the homemade snacks; they were truly exceptional and made the stay feel even more personal. The property is spotless, and the level of care put into keeping everything clean really stands out. The location is also perfect, close enough to walk to the main attractions and enjoy the city comfortably. Overall, the attention, comfort, and charm of this hotel made my experience unforgettable. Highly recommended.

Summary: The house was amazing. It felt like a bed and breakfast with a stocked kitchen and daily warm baked treats left out for you. Perfect location. Living room with fire places to cozy up to. Everyone who worked here felt like a friend. 10/10 would recommend this !! Also, not haunted so you can relax when you come in for the night!

Summary: I enjoyed my stay at the Merchant. I loved the history of the property, its location, the extra comfort touches everywhere in both the common areas and the individual rooms. The small deck in the rear of the building offered a pleasant seating area outside, the property is well maintained inside and out. Loved being able to walk everywhere, can’t wait to return to Salem and the Merchant.

Summary: I absolutely loved my stay at The Merchant. The building is beautiful and full of character. The kitchen was impressively stocked with healthy options like overnight oats, chia pudding, yogurt parfait and even hot cider and chocolate chip cookies. I also loved the Nespresso coffee and tea selection. The living room was our favorite spot calm, cozy, and perfect for relaxing by the fireplace with tea before bed. Everything about the atmosphere felt peaceful and welcoming. The only small thing to note as is expected in charming old buildings is that sound carries more than you might think. It caught me a bit off guard, but it’s just part of the historic charm!
