Positive: The Mercury is basic and since it has been around for ages, a little tired. Tea facilities in room good, tv worked fine. No soap/shampoo but being used to other hotels, I wasn’t expecting that but since there is a Spar next door it was easy enough to get some. The staff were very friendly and helpful and a request for early arrival was acknowledged promptly. Perfectly acceptable for what we needed but don’t expect a Premier Inn type experience.
Negative: Really does need work to bring it up to a higher level but I doubt that it would be first on their list of priorities.
Summary: Basic but convenient.
