Summary: Restaurant had too many flies for my liking. We stayed in Room 2. The WiFi in that room is virtually non-existent.. TV remote control had no batteries. One wall light was not working (bulb had blown). Surfaces of desk and bedside cabinets were “sticky”. Not sure what they use to clean the surfaces with but they could do with finding something better. Hotel needs a good clean and a refresh. Hotel staff were all really great though. Ambiance very good. Beds & room servicing were all very good.

Summary: We booked this hotel when we travelled from Kent to a 50th wedding anniversary. The location is beautiful, right on the river with country views. A short walk into the pretty town. The hotel was very nice, the breakfast plentiful with a good choice. We also ate in the restaurant and had a very nice meal. The room was large and had a nice bathroom with a great shower. There is no lift in this hotel, but there are rooms nearby which might suit people who would have difficulty climbing the stairs. There are also low beams, which are charming but be aware if you are tall. All in all we were very happy with our stay. Sudbury and the surrounding areas are lovely. We went into Cambridge one day using the Trumpington park & ride, and went to Clare castle and country park. I would happily recommend this hotel.

Summary: The Mill is a gem of a hotel with a picturesque location and walking distance from the main town facilities. The bedrooms are well-equipped and private parking is free for guests. Even though the hotel is very well appointed, the staff are friendly but not stuffy and it has a small hotel feel. The bar and dining room is spacious with the feature water wheel and views across the water meadows. The food is slightly more expensive than average pub grub, but it is tasty with good size portions. Looking forward to our next stay.

Summary: Dirty towels on the corridor floor for at least 20 hours. Room carpet badly stained. Room smelt musty and was tired and poorly equipped. Key cards kept failing and had to be reprogrammed. Communal areas were grim and unwelcoming. A very depressing stay despite the staff trying to be helpful.
