Overview
This five thousand square- foot lodge is the perfect place to relax and reconnect with those important people in your life. Our beautiful family room is filled with natural light, while a well-appointed kitchen awaits your culinary adventures. We have seven bedrooms, a loft with five bunk beds, and three and a half baths, with the second floor bath sporting a luxury shower. The outdoor kitchen has a gas and a charcoal grill and a gorgeous patio with a fire ring. There is a brand new basketball court for your enjoyment as well. Be sure to bring your basketballs, as none are at the lodge. There is no TV in the lodge.
Please be aware that if your trip is in the winter, a four-wheel-drive vehicle is recommended. Two-wheel drives will be just fine unless the lane is snow-covered.
There is an exterior camera on the premises.
Base occupancy is 24 people. There will be a $30 fee for each extra person.

The Mountain lodge is located in the heart of an Amish community that offers a unique and peaceful experience. Fifteen minutes from the lodge is 923-acre Little Buffalo State Park, offering hiking trails, Holman Lake, a grist mill & Blue Ball Tavern Museum. It is a lovely place to enjoy God's creation. Also, about fifteen minutes from the lodge is the Juniata River. The second largest tributary of the Susquehanna River, is a slow moving, low gradient river ideal for paddling, and is an angler’s dream. the Juniata River flows through a picturesque valley offering visitors a chance to explore the area’s wide fertile valleys, small towns, and the natural heritage of the region. From traditional fishing to fly fishing, kayaking to camping, the area’s waterways are the ideal setting for your next fishing trip or family vacation.

Summary: This is our 3rd year booking this house for our women's retreat. When we arrived the drive was a sheet of ice. We had to push a friend's car the final distance. The weather was calling for ice and wintry mix overnight, which worried us since it was already so icy it was a challenge to walk from the car to the door. The owner responded quickly about the fireplace issues and the smoke detector beep (which I had to go to Karns to buy 9V batteries for so it wouldn't beep the entire weekend.) However, when asked if someone could come salt, I received no response, through message and through voicemail. That was disappointing as we had 20 women coming and going at different times of the weekend. I ended up driving to True Value and purchasing salt in case we couldn't get down the drive on Sunday morning. If you have a property, there should be someone attentive to something like this. The conditions of the drive and the landing outside the door were downright dangerous.

Summary: I’m overall a great stay ! Kitchen and house was well equipped. The listing did not mention no alcohol and the only time we were informed was 3 days prior to check in. It should be noted that no alcohol is allowed (other than wine) on the listing. It would have nice to have the ability to adjust the heat as some of our guests bedrooms were cold and there was no ability to turn up the heat. The WiFi was also weak which was ok for steaming a movie on a projector but didn’t not allow for many guests to logged on and multiple users having access.

Summary: The pictures do not do justice to this home. This home is massive and gorgeous. PLENTY of space for our families to have our annual Friendsgiving. The kids could play with no one getting under anyones feet. The water pressure in the showers were a little light however expected on a well. The outside area is wonderful for adults and children alike, plenty of space to congregate. Not a complaint but we had to laugh, the kitchen counters, cabinets and stove are extremely tall. The stove was almost to my shoulders and I am 5'6". There is a small stool however we used our coolers to stand tall enough to use it. It was definitely our joke for the weekend. Overall loved it and will be returning!

Summary: This was a great place to stay for the weekend. The pictures didn’t show the pool table and ping-pong table, so that was an extra. The house is very big and spacious, perfect for a large group! There’s a Pickleball net on the basketball court. You have to bring your own Pickleball equipment though. It has a gas fire place. The host was a little slow to respond when we first booked but got us all taken care of during our stay when we had questions.

Summary: The property more than met our expectations. Beautiful home. Spacious with enough single beds so no one had to sleep with someone else. Extremely clean. Huge problem with billing overcharge however and still waiting for it to be resolved.

Summary: We had our women's retreat here and had a wonderful weekend. The place was just perfect for us. The large kitchen/great room was wonderful so we could be together while playing separate games. I did send a message or two that I didn't hear back from, but that didn't affect our stay. The kitchen could be better equipped for such a large group, the pots were not in best condition and there weren't any really big pots. No measuring cups/spoons. Not enough bowls for a group as large as the house can hold. These were all minor things for us though. Just wanted to include that for future improvements. I did not get an email about check in for some reason but they answered the phone when I called and provided the check in code. Thank you for sharing this wonderful home with us.

Summary: This was out 9th year of a mountain house weekend stay with the same group of families, with 8 adults and 9 kids, now ranging in age from 9-17. The bedrooms were spacious and there were plenty of them. We generally look for houses with a bunk room since the kids like to stay together, and this house had that option. Bathrooms were clean, and there were plenty of linens and towels. Plenty of living space for our group to spread out in, play games, great outdoor area as well. The kitchen itself could use a deep clean, many of the pots and pans were sticky, and the utensil holder and everything in it was very greasy. The stove is set up very high which made cooking a bit awkward, but we managed. We were not made aware ahead of time that alcohol was against the rules of this house. The cleaning people showed up a full half hour prior to our check out time and began cleaning the downstairs, which we felt was intrusive since we paid for a 10am check out. We did leave at 10am on the dot. All told, we did not let these things ruin our weekend and had a great time with our group.

Summary: The house was stunning, clean and roomy enough for all of us. We had a wonderful time. One issue we experienced was after a power outage the thermostat did not reset. So we spent one night without heat downstairs. Not too bad, but the thermostats are locked, so we were helpless to do anything until we stumbled upon the key. Reaching out to the owner was a slow, tedious process that morning.
