Positive: If you are keen to visit Istanbul are a budget traveller, and want to stay within walking or tramming distance of the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern, Topkapi Palace, the Grand Bazaar and the Istanbul Archeological Museum, The Nomad Inn, is highly recommended. Fari arranged our airport pickup, also a driver to collect us so that we could return to the airport, there to collect our rental car for the rest of the expedition. The apartments are enormous, self-catering ( functional- you won't be practising for Master Chef Istanbul with what is available), scrupulously clean with a lounge, dining area and a great bathroom with a large shower cubicle and excellent shower. Across the road, just a short walk away, many cookie cutter eateries, disappointingly all serving the same food, and all of them using the same wholesaler. Even the Turkish meatballs are all served in threes, are identical in size and appearance and lack in generosity and flavour,. But it is convenient. The little shop immediately across the road, is a must for their sweet meats. There you will find Baklava Pistachio drenched in honey, Bird's Nest Baklava, Katyf, and trays upon trays of heavenly delights. Liquor stores are not in plentiful supply, but there is a good one, a short walk away.
Negative: I was very satisfied.

Positive: Lovely apartment with all you need at your doorstep, food and groceries. It is like the pictures but just not as new. Walking distance to blue mosque, hagia sophia, metro and trams. Staff were pleasant and very helpful.
Negative: It was a bit of a task finding the building, not even people in the area seemed to know. The building name is Raven Suites, but the name given on booking.com is The Nomad Inn, which is on a small plaque outside the building. We had a day where there was no water in the morning for a few hours, water outage in the neighbourhood and then later work within the building. There was also a day when the air-conditioning switched off and stopped working for a couple of hours, luckily it was early morning and it didn't get too hot. Complimentary room cleaning was offered if you left a sign to say you wanted it done, but only bins were emptied daily. By the end of our stay, the floors were quite dusty.

Positive: The heritage building was well renovated and charming.
Negative: The building had no lift to enable comfortable access to the apartment. The apartment had no windows other than floor level fan lights. There was no washing machine as advertised. The hot water service did not function without us calling for the staff to reset it which was inconvenient. There was no water at all when we arrived as the whole district was turned off for maintenance. This last aspect was out of Raven’s control but did not start the stay very well.
Summary: Charming heritage building with some short comings regarding facilities for comfort.

Positive: Restaurants and shops nearby - short walk to the old town and the bazaars. Modern feel to the property, air conditioning and a fridge.
Negative: The black mould in the shower was quite severe. Walls could do with a repaint. Most if the pictures used on the site are of the nicer, bigger flats rather than the 1 bed we had so we were a little disappointed on arrival

Positive: Bahaiti, the concierge, was genuinely friendly and extremely helpful. He showed us his favourite coffee house and got us a good price Taxi. He made our stay at Raven Hotel really special.

Positive: The apartment is large with very comfy bed
Negative: There is no cleaning, they only change towels, because of that it became dirty in 3 days. Hairdryer wasn't working. Location is not great. There is no enough lighting in the apartments, was difficult to read for instance.

Positive: If you are traveling as a family this option will suit you perfectly. Spacious room and great design, for a reasonable price right in the center of Istanbul. Convenient to get anywhere you want to go. By booking this room you will pay for a cab 2 times when you arrive and when you leave, the rest of the time you can get around by public transportation (which is close) and the main attractions are a 20 minute walk away. There are many restaurants in the area (of different price range from cheaper to expensive) there are stores and one supermarket. All within walking distance of a wonderful and very comfortable apartment with excellent staff. The manager helped pick up a cab from the airport, everything worked like clockwork and the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful with suitcases
Negative: Unfortunately, it was raining when we were in town and there were leaks in the bedrooms, on the outside wall. But I am sincerely confident that the staff quickly sorted out the problem and you will not be affected.
