Positive: A wonderful, warm welcome including a glass of bubbly! So lovely to have our own sitting/dining room as well as a very comfortable bedroom and en suite bathroom. Delicious continental breakfast too. Very interesting house with a fascinating history. Michelle and Paul were brilliant hosts.

Positive: Breakfast was superb! The fridge was well-stocked with prepared grapefruit, fruit juice, milk, butter and marmalade/jams. These were replenished every day. The pantry offered a wide choice of cereals and porridge and a selection of fresh bread every day. Upon request, our hosts even gave me a small pot of 'Marmite'. Then they offered us a microwavable container to cook eggs and fresh eggs arrived every day! Coffee, tea and sugar were always available. Our bedroom was huge, with a really comfy king-size bed. There was ample wardrobe and drawer space, bedside lights and tables. There was an enormous en suite with both a very large bath and a shower, and piles of fluffy white towels. Even dressing gowns were available! With the door open between the two rooms, we had both early morning light and evening sunsets! Again, we could make hot drinks in our bedroom. Unexpectedly, but delightfully, we also had a living room of our own downstairs, accessed directly from our own front door. This room was easily big enough to have a sofa and armchair, plus a kitchen table and chairs, right by the window, looking over the front garden, with flowers, birds and views over the fields. This was a lovely place to enjoy our ample breakfasts! There was a large TV and a useful coffee table. We also had access to a downstairs loo/utility room, where we could refill the kettle. There were two outside spaces where we could sit, with a cuppa. The first was a large bench, with table, in the front garden, directly outside our sitting room and the other was in the back gravel area, with views over the fields. The location was perfect for us: Speke Hall, RHS Bridgewater, Arley Hall & Tatton Park all within easy reach. We could walk to an excellent pub! Best of all were our hosts, Paul and Michelle. They were so friendly, wonderfully hospitable, always helpful, very kind and great fun to spend time with.

Negative: Absolutely nothing could have been better! This was the best B'n'B we've ever stayed in. We really hope to go again.
