Positive: We loved our room and the small size of the hotel. Both restaurants and our daily breakfast at Toast were really great. We bought pastries each day of our stay from the bread shop. The staff were beyond helpful and friendly, they went out of their way to offer help and local travel support. And the area is an amazing part of the city with stacks of cafes, bars, restaurants, and close to 2 subway stations to take you to other parts of Beijing. We loved The Orchid Hotel. Would stay again.
Negative: The property while rustic was super charming.
Summary: Great hotel with loads of charm, warmth, and personality. Great staff, good food, amazing local experience.

Positive: A wonderful, tasteful, quirky hotel in a fantastic location in the Hutongs. A bakery, tea house, cocktail bar, and chic and very comfortable room in a self-contained flat. But the most amazing this was the service, which is the best I have ever received in decades of travelling. Incredibly helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel so welcome. We would have stayed here for weeks if we could!
Negative: Nothing.
Summary: Excellent location, tasteful and chic accommodation, and incredible service.

Positive: Staff was absolutely friendly and caring. Also they were fluent in English, which you will hardly find anywhere else in China. They even provided a tour through the hotel and provided useful information about the area. We also liked the breakfast, especially the Chinese one.
Negative: Water pressure in the shower is quite low, but it is an old (historical) buidling. A self service station for drinking water would be nice in the lobby.

Positive: It was incredibly friendly - staff were fantastic and hugely helpful. Everything was very clean and the facilities were great. Brilliant showers for instance after a long day of exploring the city. The location was also excellent in every respect.

Positive: Room was perfect for 2 people and very well appointed. The TOAST restaurant was awesome and the roof top bar was fantastic. The staff was extremely accommodating and helpful and went out of their way to make sure we had everything needed. This was one of the nicest hotels we have stayed at in a while. Price was fair - service was again - top notch!!

Positive: The location is excellent, and it provides a quiet oasis within the very busy streets of Beijing. We loved rooftop restaurant and bar. The rooms were also stylish and super cool and comfortable despite it being 40 degrees celsius during our stay. My main positive feedback though is reserved for the staff. My friend and I went out every night and were severely struggling to get up for our daytime activities because of both jetlag and being hungover. The hotel staff went way beyond their duty, organising our taxis and on one occasion waking us up when we had slept in. Thank you to the staff.
