Old Saybrook is situated halfway between New York City and Boston, along I-95 corridor.
Newly remodeled, beautiful, quaint, 1920's, 1 bedroom cottage.
Views of South Cove from living room & kitchen. A few steps away, the cove & small boat ramp for kayaks. Direct tidal access to Connecticut River & Long Island Sound.
South Cove is home to osprey, swans, great blue herons, sand pipers, snowy egrets, cormorants, ducks an other species. We even had 3 white pelicans in the cove on December 25, 2015.
The cove & river is full of Bluefish, Carp, and Stripers. Enjoy fishing, crabbing, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding and much more.
Main Street & downtown is a short walk away. Enjoy the restaurants, bars, shops & the Katherine Hepburn theater, Saybrook Point, Shoreline East & Amtrak (2 miles), Essex Steam Train, boat rentals, outlet shopping, hiking, walking trails. A quick bike ride to Town beach or Saybrook Point by the Connecticut River. Winery visit a short drive away. Local brewery in town.
The kitchen is equipped with a range, oven, toaster, refrigerator, freezer, microwave, blender and coffee maker with seating for four at the kitchen table & 4 at the island top.
The bedroom has a queen bed & dresser. The living room has a queen sleeper sofa, cable TV, and wi-fi broadband internet connection. Linens & towels are supplied.
This is a smoke free home. Smoking allowed outside only.

Propane grill, picnic table in yard. (Seasonal - Spring, Summer, Fall)
Check in at 4pm, check out at 11am. 4 day minimum stay, ideal for a couple.
House will be clean and ready. Please leave it as you found it.

Summary: We were looking for a place to stay in Old Saybrook that was easily accessible, clean, and near everything. The Osprey met our criterion, and it was clean, neat, and comfortable. It is not the biggest place we have stayed in, but it was so comfortable and nicely maintained. We just loved it and would not hesitate to stay there next year. It is perfect for a couple. Wonderful owners, very welcoming and warm.

Summary: We had a delightful, relaxing stay at The Osprey. The cottage is cozy and comfortable with many nice touches. Our host met us upon arrival and was most welcoming. On our first evening walk, they gave us some tomatoes from their garden! We loved the view of the south cove, the lighthouse, and all the birds (yes, there is an osprey nest right there). Nice quiet street, friendly neighbors, and lots to see and do in the area. Thank you!

Summary: The Osprey cottage was very clean, nicely decorated and had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay! I had to spend some of the stay working and was so relieved that the Wi-Fi signal was strong and worked perfectly. The street itself was quiet, neighbors very friendly and the water views from the property were lovely. The location was ideal as we enjoyed the local restaurants, shopping and beaches all just mins away! We really appreciated the owner greeting us upon arrival and answering any questions we had. We had no issues during our stay- but knew that the owners were nearby and willing to help or answer any questions we had. There is no doubt, would absolutely revisit this property in the future!

Summary: We had a really nice stay at the Osprey. The location could not be better, with access to all of the delights of the CT shore. The cottage itself is small, but very cute and comfortable. Our kids loved to the big trunk of board games, including 3 or 4 different types of Monopoly! With 2 small children on a week-long stay, we would've preferred a kitchen and bathroom that were more fully stocked. We had to run out to buy some basics like cooking oil, salt and pepper, shampoo and soap. Not a major deal but it feels worth mentioning!

Summary: Location in Old Saybrook allows guests to enjoy a cove view and the sounds of wildlife. Not only is Old Saybrook a great place to spend time at the Katherine Hepburn Center and shops but this location allows an easy travel distance to neighboring towns. Niantic is east with its broadwalk and the Old Red Saltbox. Essex and Chester are north with their shops restaurants and festivals. Breakfast at Olive Olys is a great experience as well as the Black Seal! West is Madison with its expensive state beach park. How can you fit in all these expereinces? Well I guess one has to pay an extended visit to this cottage in its great location! Plus add to the location that the hosts live closeby and will help you with any requests with just a text message! A perfect combination:)
