Summary: The Peapod was perfect for us. It was roomy, sunny, and pleasant, with an ideal layout. The front porch was amazing—large and with a nice view. We met owner Carlos who was gracious and friendly. Because it was a slow season, Carlos kindly offered us things that might not be available during busy season such as extra parking and gas grill. I would highly recommend this home.

Summary: My husband and I rented the Pea Pond in order to visit with our Pennsylvania family who rent and own homes in the McHenry area. Not only is the home extremely clean but it is also very accommodating to travelers away from home. From the kitchen equipment to the towels and comfort of the home we were "at home." Many of our family members visited and were very impressed with the lay-out and comfort of the home. The only negative is that their is no central air. However, the window units in the bedrooms made sleeping very comfortable . Also the owner has many fans available throughout the home which adds additional comfort in other areas of the home. Give it a try. It won't disappoint!

Summary: We're a family of 4 adults, and the Peapod was the perfect size for us -- the right number of beds/baths, a kitchen that easily seats 4, and a cozy living space where we could read, play games, watch movies, or chat. The house was clean and well maintained, and there were nice "welcome extras" left for us. The location is fantastic -- across the street from the lake and very close to shops/restaurants. We'll definitely return!
