Positive: This place is a gem in the middle of Alentejo. Placed on a hill top, next to a castle. With an amazing view all over Alentejo. Wow. It was so nice and peaceful and the view was to die for. Vicky and Mitch were such wonderful hosts, and we really felt welcome from the moment we arrived. They are so easy going, kind and helpful, and it was so wonderful to spend a few days with them here at their home. I would recommend this place to everybody that wants to visit Alentejo.

Positive: We just finished an amazing 3 night stay at The Place Evoramonte! These accommodations sit high on a hill right next to a castle… and the view is spectacular! Mitch and Vicki were such wonderful hosts. They meet our every need. The included breakfasts were delicious… fresh squeezed juice, variety of coffees, cooked to order eggs and omelets plus a variety of of cheeses, meats, breads and more. Dinners were available and we enjoyed every selection… especially the pizza. I’m going to let the pictures help tell the story. https://evoramonte.com/

Positive: Vicki and Mitch were the most gracious and welcoming hosts! The breakfast was superb, as were the dinners we ate there! The accommodations were clean, comfortable and next door to an amazing castle! What can’t be described in words was the most magnificent, never-ending views that go on forever! As visitors, we were very well taken care of, given great advice on what to experience in the area and would most certainly love to go back!

Positive: Wonderfully attentive hosts made our stay quite enjoyable. Picturesque location adjacent to the old castle. Ample grounds included a rooftop veranda, a breakfast patio, and additional quiet spaces under flowering pergolas. Breakfast was prepared to order and plentiful in both variety and quality. Vicky even made me a decaf coffee with soy milk! Dinner was welcome after a long day of sight-seeing, accompanied by hand-picked local red wine. Our hosts provided many suggestions for sights to see as well as dining locales. We loved the nearby tile museum!
Negative: We wished we would have allowed another day to tour a local winery and marble quarry.
