Nicely appointed and beautifully located two bedroom one bath cottage with 80 feet of frontage on 130 acre, quiet, no-wake Ocqueoc (say AH-key-ock) Lake. Sleeps 4 with a king bed and 2 singles. Wifi enabled fiber optic internet service and a 32" smart TV included. The kitchen is outfitted with an electric stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven, drip coffee maker, Keurig style coffee maker, and more. The attached deck off the living room with outdoor seating and gas grill is a great place to enjoy the breathtaking views overlooking the lake. Our lakeside deck just a few stair steps away from the back door offers gorgeous sunsets, a peaceful setting for your morning coffee, unobstructed sunbathing, or just "on the water but dry" lake enjoyment right at the edge of the lake. Beautiful views, abundant wildlife, fishing, boating, kayaking, and canoeing, including a three hour float, with one short portage over Ocqueoc Lake Rd via the Ocqueoc River right from your dock to Lake Huron (please check with your host before heading downriver as the Spring 2025 ice storm may have affected accessibility of this trip). Your stay includes the use of our 14 foot row boat, gas grill, private dock, and all the amenities. The Point at Ocqueoc is located 20 minutes to Rogers City, Onaway, and Black Lake; 30 minutes to Cheboygan and Indian River; less than an hour to the Mackinac Bridge. Enjoy the peacefulness and quiet solitude of lakefront living on this beautifully pristine lake, the entire west side of which is state-owned, undeveloped land. Truly, an up-north lake where you can experience nature absent the crowded lakeshore of the more developed lakes in the state. A public boat launch is located on the south end of the lake for the launching of your fishing boat or pontoon. Canoes and kayaks can be launched from right in front of the cottage via your private dock. No smoking. Pet guest limited to one adult dog weighing less than 35 pounds. $35 pet fee will be charged. Written rental agreement including pet addendum (if applicable) to be completed separately after registration.

Summary: Great location, well equipped cabin with a great variety of outdoor and indoor toys provided ( boat, fishing poles, cornhole, etc.)Would recommend purchasing a Michigan Passport. Many State Parks nearby that require the Passport to enter.

Summary: Craig and Laurie were excellent hosts for me and my partner’s long weekend away. The cabin on their property sits alongside their own vacation rental, but you have a private backward and private access to the lake with a small dock with a row boat. It was perfect! Craig and Laurie were very thorough with information (they email directions to get to the cabin with helpful tidbits on getting in which were very nice to have arriving very late at night!) and were very communicative, reaching out several times leading up to the stay to ask if we had any questions or concerns. The home was very clean and very nicely put together. They include lots of fun activities that would have been great for more adults or children; a cabinet full of games and cards, cornhole, and a binder full of nearby places to visit and things to do. We chose to stay at the cabin most of our time to relax, and could not have asked for anything more. The only downside was town is 25 minutes away, there are not any closer stores or gas stations, so we had to plan ahead. But even with that in mind, I would still stay here again and recommend to all friends and family!

Summary: The cottage was immulate and the setting was breathtakingly beautiful. We watched the lions at night. There were eagles, blue herons, geese and plenty of fish. The lake is quiet and tranquil. The host is great with attention to detail.

Summary: We had the opportunity to be a guest at The Point, and the cabin did not disappoint!! We were right on the lake with all the amenities provided to fully disconnect from the busy life and simply enjoy the "lake life". The cabin was clean, and provided all the essentials to enjoy a relaxing, care-free stay. The location was absolutely perfect. There's hiking close by, site seeing, two- tracks and so much more. The check in/check out process was easy, and Craig and Laurie had wonderful communication throughout. We highly recommend this perfect little gem.

Summary: Craig communicated quickly and respectfully and even provided us some worms to go fishing at the lake. We had a chance to meet Craig and his wife, and they are lovely people. The cottage/cabin was very clean (including the grill!) and everything was very accessible. There is even a neat binder in the inside with information on the local area which was nice to have. Everything you need for cooking is accessible to you (besides the food and oil of course).There is internet at the location too which is nice. The only, and I mean only thing I would change, is if there was central A/C because it did get pretty toasty in the cabin during our stay. There are 2 box fans and lots and lots of windows, but the weekend we stayed it was exceptionally and abnormally hot for the time of year. Besides that, and the bugs of course (it's in the woods and right on the lake there will be bugs lol), the stay was close to perfect. We hope to come back some time!
