Positive: The location was good, an easy walk to the town centre. Parking was available at no extra cost. Loved the area in and around Athlone. Had advice from a friend to go to Athlone and it proved to be good advice. Once we found the hotel, we were set.

Negative: The fact that there was no reception inside was a little unsettling. Fortunately, a staff member was walking by while we were at the computerised check in. The room was adequate and we enjoyed the area but there was no one to ask if we had any problems or requests for advice etc. aside from the one staff member who just happened to be walking by.

Summary: The hotel was adequate enough but no reception desk was a bit difficult.
