Positive: We liked the 2 hand rails both side of the stairs, the coffee maker, the assorted teas, milk and washing up liquid being supplied, the shampoos and shower gels. We liked the clean modern bathroom, the log burner, the large TV, the comfortable pull out sofabed. We also liked the stone walls, the window blinds, good central heating. The friendly smiley faces of the owners who were helpful. The books for walkers. No noise from the pub next door. The meals in the pub were delicious and good portion sized, if we lived nearer we would be regulars (especially for the home made pies). A lovely post office about 100yds away which sold local honey, special butter and yoghurts. Large area for car parking. Dog friendly accommodation and in the pub.
Negative: There really was nothing that we didn't like. A few really small suggestions for improvements. Hardly worth mentioning but a toilet roll holder would have been good (though it is difficult to know where to place it), somewhere to put outside shoes would have been nice - maybe a rack in the cupboard under the stairs. I found the upstairs mattress too soft but my daughter was comfortable on it. The pull out sofa was firmer and very comfortable, a good height to stand up from and as the toilet was downstairs, it was more convenient to sleep downstairs. A freezer section to the fridge would have been helpful for ice cubes and ice cream. If the TV had been wall mounted there would be more room to walk round the end of the sofa bed when in use. Couldn't find a guest book for comments which usually provides interesting reading. Oh and there were no plain glasses for drinking water supplied, only stemmed wine type glasses. One other small thing that there were not many pictures on the walls.
Summary: Highly recommended for touring the Cotswolds, cosy, clean, pet friendly, good car parking.
