10 minutes from Freeport International Airport.
Recently renovated by new owner, great location and safe on the Inland waterway east of Port Lucaya. Master suite features King Bed with door direct to patio, pool and boat dock, make up area, his and her vanity and large walk in shower.
This is a spacious luxury home with a open great room, fantastic views over the waterway, pool, boat dock and gardens, soaring ceilings and flat screen TV. Sofas and separate sitting area. Formal dining room for those special evenings and a charming breakfast nook overlooking the pool, gardens and waterway.
The West wing features two bedrooms one with queen bed and the other 2 single beds, one with access direct to patio and pool, both share the Bathroom with Tub. The kitchen is tastefully equipped with stainless steel appliances, latest French door fridge/freezer with filtered water and ice maker, gas stove with griddle. Microwave, and dishwasher .
You may arrive and depart by your own boat with reservation. From the Retreat take a short walk or drive to the uncrowded Taino beach with parking beach bars and restaurants.
Daily around mid morning pass the Dolphins reserve and watch them play and feed. (a must see). Fishing and snorkeling trips can be arranged by our Resident Manager in adjoining apartment straight from the dock or Port Lucaya the place to shop and enjoy numerous bars and restaurants with live music at weekends. Back at the Retreat, take in the soft breezes of clean tropical air while relaxing on the large patio or swim in the salt chlorinated unheated pool. The large patio with table and seating, perfect for breakfast lunch or dinner overlooking the pool, gardens and waterway. Wi-Fi is normally good but is known to go down. Note you are within walking distance to the famous Wednesday night fish fry at Taino Beach. A Very short drive to local gas station with shop and a few minutes more and you are at the large supermarket.

Summary: Very pleased. The property managers could not have been nicer and helpful. Our first experience was that we were worried about the weather around our start date. They were very accommodating allowing us to move the stay a few days later while we watched a storm (we were willing to work with them understanding there had to be open times for the unit to be able to change the dates - it all worked great). We had two boats, 27' and 36' and were skeptical of the dock at first. Once we figured out that you tie the bow to the piling, floated a few bumpers between the boat and dock and tied to the dock it worked perfectly - moving with the tide. The water is beautiful, you can catch grunts right off the dock. We even saw two tarpon swimming by. The house and swimming pool worked perfectly for us - 4 adults and two children 7 and 9. Be sure to bring bug spray as the mosquitos are pretty hungry at dusk and dawn (we went in August so that's expected). We rented a car for 6 days for less than $200 - the property managers helped us with that and even took us to the airport to pick the car up. A grocery store is near by, but you need some type of transportation as it is too far to walk. Customs is close by along with fuel and a pretty neat little town that you can park your boat and walk around and get lunch or dinner. Fishing was great and we went to the tuna canyon about 20 miles out and caught skip jack tuna and dolphin. No lobsters though and we tried. Nice ledges just no lobsters - we need to figure that out. Summary: This is my second time at the Retreat. I have many choices but James,John and Liz have always made us welcome and go that extra mile. We love the pool and the ability to dive into the canal. It’s so clear too. After a lazy breakfast we liked to walk the local area to watch the dolphins being fed and trained. A good time is 10.40 am. Then we walked onto the Taino beach, take a swim or 2 as we walk along the sandy beach, Stop off at one of the friendly beach bars for a beer and a freshly made conch salad. Then a walk around the block and back onto West Beach Rd to the Retreat. That’s our morning exercise. We love to use the grill and sit out on the patio during the evenings. The bed's are so comfortable and the rooms are very spacious. Sad we had to leave and go back to the cold weather in the UK. We have many memories and photos of Happy Hour at Bones Bar in Port Lucaya, literally a 5 minute drive from the property. We also took a a lovely day trip to The Tipsy Turtle Bar and grill at Hideaway Beach Club. Spent the day relaxing on the beach and took the kayaks out around the reefs. Then had a swim in the pool and sat at the pool bar. I can truly recommend this visit as I am already planning my third visit.

Summary: My family and I stayed at the house for Christmas 2017. We had a great stay at the house. The hose has 3 large bedrooms, a nice kitchen with all the appliances and a large living room. The furniture could use some updating. But it is very comfy. The outdoors is the best. A great salt water pool. Plenty of lounge chairs and a table to eat out doors. We spent most of our time by the pool when we didn't go to the beach. We grilled most nights for dinner, John and Liz were at the house to greet us and gave us restaurant recommendations and when to see the Dolphins. On Christmas Day we charted a boat with Captain PK who took us out for 8 hours. We fished, went snorkeling , dived for star fish and swam with sea turtles. It was the best Christmas !!! We were very blessed to enjoy a great vacation in such a nice home!!

Summary: The house was beautiful, very clean and Spacious. A lovely peaceful location where you could relax and feel safe. This was just what the family were looking for. The home was excellently equipped and had everything we needed. We spent many hours in the lovely salt water pool and had barbecues most evenings on the patio. We were fortunate enough to see some beautiful sunsets over the boat dock. The beach was just a short walk and had white sands and warm clear water. There is also a Fish Fry held there on a Wednesday with music and good food. James welcomed us when we arrived, showing us around and explained everything to us. He was also very helpful with suggesting things to do and helped us with our Dive package. He had a lot of good information of the best places for Scuba and Snorkeling. Our holiday was just perfect and we will most definitely be returning to this home again.

The home was excellently equipped and had everything we could think of. The beach was just a short walk and it was lovely, we were also lucky to be there on Wednesday for the weekly fish fry, a lot of fun with music and a nice relaxing walk. James welcomed us when we arrived and showed us around and explained everything to us. He was also a wealth of information and knew everywhere to go and see. He even helped us with our dive package and pointed out the best places to go and snorkel. Our holiday was just perfect and we will most definitely be returning to this home again.

Summary: This lovely home has everything you need! It was a wonderful stay. We enjoyed the pool and the large, tropical, fenced-in, peaceful yard. The home is large and furnished very nicely. We were staying with another couple and enjoyed walking the area - very close to the beach! We enjoyed fresh conch salad close-by and were a short distance from Port Lucaya which had many restaurants and activities. So much to do !! Yet, we had peace and tranquility awaiting us at the house. We spent many evenings with windows open or sitting on the outdoor patio enjoying the view. We will be going back again and have told all our friends about it! I highly recommend this home for your next vacation !!
