Negative: Access to first floor up narrow steep stairs a little tricky.
Summary: Lovely quiet spot, very comfortable bed and excellent facilities. Would use The Retreat again.

Positive: The location was perfect. Easy to get to, Peaceful location and lovely outlook. Walking distance of a great pub to get something to eat. Easy access to the motorway.
Negative: No complaints, everything was spot on. Typical old grade II listed property, quirky staircase, but all part of the charm.

Positive: The location was lovely as expected. We walked to the nearby Swan PH for dinner upon arrival, as recommended by the owners, and it was lovely. The room was super clean, which we appreciated.
Negative: It was a little strange that we were greeted by the owners from their hot tub in the garden. The fridge next to the bed was a little noisy and disturbed our sleep. We were a little confused by the lack of locks or keys, as there were other rooms within the same section of the house, and we didn't know if other people were staying in them so this ought to be made clear, please.

Negative: Nothing of significance, hit my head once or twice in the hallway on cieling beam but due to my own negligence (was a clear 'mind your head' sign.

Positive: Idyllic location. Amazingly comfy bed and immaculately clean. Owners were super helpful when i arrived as I couldn’t open the key safe .
Negative: I couldn’t get the TV to work so some instructions for that would have been helpful. I’m absolutely sure the owners wouldn’t have minded me asking them though but I’m the sort of person who doesn’t like to bother people. As I wanted to prepare my own food for the day ( I was on a yoga course ) I could have done with a sharp knife.

Positive: Immaculate condition throughout with a super comfortable bed and amazing shower. Really nice to have a seating area outside. Jacqui and Peter very welcoming and helpful (THANK YOU)
Negative: Stairs a bit steep - but that may be my replacement hips! We were there visiting family nearby, but making food may be an issue for a longer stay as there is only a microwave and toaster (plenty of cutlery and plates).
Summary: Great accommodation ; Perfect hosts ; would definitely stay at The Re'treat' again (a real treat)
