Summary: Love the location, convenience and intimacy of this beach resort. Really enjoyed the top notch experience - our room had a gorgeous balcony, coffee maker, steamer for my vacation outfits, and excellent bellmen staff. We received a complimentary glass of champagne as it was our honeymoon and it was the small touches that made all the difference.

Summary: There was a homeless woman who snuck into the pool & asked my child to swim down the slide with her, I had to get a pool attendant to have her removed. I also had extra charges on my debit card that was not mentioned at the time of check out so I have to deal with customer service. Overall, a 2 day stay cost us $1,650 & that’s before dining with our family of 4! After speaking to customer service I was told due to technical difficulties the cannot give me a reference number even for a complaint about the extra $200 charge on my card, so I will have to follow up if not contacted within 48 hours about it. What was supposed to be an $1100 stay for 2 nights, turned into $1500 with additional charges, self parking & valet for one night.

Summary: Hotel was fine, dated however. Room Was clean upon arriving but then w room Service every other day and trips to the beach the room gets dirty quickly. Not a fan of room Service, we ordered dinner one night and they brought it in a paper bag, disposable containers, etc. pretty sure it was bought at an outside restaurant and uncharged after that. Then to top it off a dead cockroach (yes a cockroach) was found in the room. We were Staying on the 6th floor so not even ground level. It took me 2-3 calls to get “maintenance” (who had better things to do on a Saturday night, hence the 2-3 phone calls) to come a remove it from the room. The incident would’ve been better tolerated if I didn’t get attitude or at least got an apology from the front desk about it. Never have I found a dead cockroach inside a hotel room. Absolutely disgusting. Won’t be staying at this hotel ever again.

Summary: Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Royal Sonesta Kauai. It's connected to a Marriott resort, so there are a lot of restaurants and different spaces in which to relax. Our room was updated and clean, though they only provide in-room services every two days. As a vegetarian, there were limited options and our best meals were off the resort. We traveled all over the coastline to many beaches and I'm glad we did. The beach at the resort is fine, but there are a lot better ones elsewhere. The pool is pretty empty early in the mornings and then later in the evenings and I swam laps and relaxed during those times.

Summary: Great stay. Had a 2 hr checking in delay but we were able to use the resort facilities so we headed to the beach. Also, we were able to get a 2 hr delay on check out plus we we invited to use the resort facilities even after room checkout. So we hung out at the pool and grabbed some refreshing drinks. The room was spacious and clean. The resort area was beautiful and included the largest swimming pool in Hawaii as well as a nice swimming beach.
