All you need to bring is food, clothes and firewood (local guy will deliver upon request).
I provide trash bags, paper towels, toilet paper, coffee, etc. for the start of your stay, but for longer stays you'll be responsible for these things. There are dishwasher pods & laundry pods for your use. There is shampoo/cond. & body wash available to use.
There are games for the family and books to enjoy for different interests. I LOVE hosting and want to help you have the best time! If you have any questions about kitchen items available please ask!

Summary: We had a fantastic stay over the holidays. The house was very easy to find, no issues getting into the property and it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We hope to return again some day.

Summary: Great space with an open floor plan, which was great for hanging out and chatting inside. The covered deck was perfect for having a coffee at the start of the day and for relaxing at night. All the necessities needed for an overnight stay were provided.and appreciated! Communication with the host was easy and helpful.

Summary: This was my family's 2nd Vrbo experience and by far the best! We stayed here during our visit to Point Pleasant and Mothman Museum. Vrbo properties on the W. Virginia did not offer the amenties our family sought. Runaway Retreat was a slice of peace and quiet! The deck/porch brought the outdoors to us. The spacious family room provided individual lounging space during family time. Everything we needed was there! Thanks!

Summary: My husband and I enjoyed our stay. He was hunting in an area about 10 min away. It was he getaway we both needed. Very clean and it was nice that it had all the kitchen stuff that I needed to cook.

Summary: Lots of personal touches makes it feel like your home away from home as soon as you walk in. The home and property is perfect to relax and unwind. It's secluded enough to enjoy the peace and quiet but not too far away from town. Any and all questions I had were answered quickly and the host(s) thought of everything! There was no reason whatsoever to leave if you didn’t want to. The best part was sitting on the deck in the morning enjoying coffee while the cows strolled up to have breakfast. My dog also loved the cows and it was so nice to find such a lovely place to travel to with my dog and not be charged extra fees. I highly recommend this home and hope to return someday for a much longer stay as we were only able to enjoy a long weekend.

Summary: That is the only word for this property. We were looking for somewhere to take our dogs to get away from city fireworks and this place was far better than we were hoping it would be. Nothing is lacking. The host has thought of everything to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Just a beautiful house on a beautiful spot. Loved seeing the cows and deer! This was the best VRBO we’ve stayed at. Thank you for sharing your property with us all and for allowing our dogs! We will definitely be back.

Summary: This was our third or fourth girls’ weekend at this property and it never disappoints. Everything is clean, well stocked, and convenient. We were pleasantly surprised with the new ramp going to the side door. It made loading and unloading the cars so much easier. We spent most of our time outside enjoying the deck. We did venture out to the Twisted Vine Winery this time which is just a few miles away. We had a tasting and purchased a few bottles to take back to sip on the deck. I ran into a snag when my tire caught a small rock. Stapleton Towing came out to put on a donut so that I could stop for a tire on the way home. They gave us fast and friendly service and I didn’t even have to put down my glass of wine! 😂
