Looking for a quick getaway? Come relax on our beautiful river property about an hour outside of Houston, TX. Enjoy the sunrise as you drink your coffee or read a book on our large porch overlooking the San Bernard River or relax underneath the beautiful oak trees. This is a great place to fish, enjoy water sports and relax. The boat slip is just minutes away. Located within 30 min of 3 beaches. Come relax and enjoy our little slice of heaven.
Our property comfortably hosts 6 adults or a combination of adults/children. We have 2 bedrooms, 1 full bath and 1 half bath downstairs. The outdoor area is spacious with a deck overlooking the river, basketball goal, private dock for fishing, charcoal grill, fire pit and a swing. We have two kayaks for rental during your stay.

Summary: Property had all that we needed. Great location for relaxing, kayaking and fishing. We caught a 4 foot Gar right around the dock, so I can see why they don't recommend swimming. Made some great memories here. Note: Bunks were very close to ceiling, so those would only work for little kids.

Summary: My wife and I came for our anniversary and our 2 grandgirls ended up staying as well! A beautiful home on a beautiful area of the river. Nice and quiet! Plenty of room!! Kids aged 5 & 3 were never bored. Enough to do outside and they loved the freedom of the large yard to run and swing about. Being right on the water was such a pleasure! Super clean, super nice, and SUPER relaxing!!! Would definitely recommend and most definitely would stay here again!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Summary: Oh my this beautiful home and view of the lake was exactly what we were looking for. Upon arrival we walk down to the pier and just watched the waves. Then up the stairs to the home was out of site from the view inside to look out. My husband and brother love to fish and it’s was just perfect. We will stay again. Susanne checked on us to make sure our stay was going well. I really appreciate her checking in on us and I can give 20 points I would. Thanks for opening up your home for our short stay.

Summary: I have stayed at The Rustic Retreat before and brought a dear friend to enjoy the beautiful views and the feeling of tranquility and relaxation. The house was so welcoming and had everything we needed. The beds were so comfortable we overslept both days we were there. We will be back for another girls getaway.

Summary: My wife, son, and I spent Memorial Day weekend at this beautiful rustic retreat on the San Bernard. We had family come spend the evening with us grilling, swimming, fishing, and playing games. Everything was in order and we had everything we needed. Our host, Suzanne, was very pleasant, attentive and responsive. We have already booked a ReTREAT!
