Why The Rusty Goat is the perfect for vacation getaway
The Rusty Goat is a labor of love for us. We built this beautiful 2 bedroom/1 bath cabin in our favorite community, Hidden Lake. After more than a year, it was finally completed in the spring of 2020. Hidden Lake, located in Cherry Log, is where we bought our very first cabin for our family in 2016 and fell in love with the wonderful people and beautiful setting.
You can see the gorgeous view of Rich Mountain from the front porch of the Rusty Goat and enjoy the sunrise in the morning. The master bedroom has a comfy king-sized bed while the second bedroom has a daybed with a trundle underneath—perfect for children and teens. The living room has a gas fireplace and comfy leather furniture. The kitchen as everything you need to make a great meal and includes an assortment of pots and pans, utensils, plates, glasses, coffee maker, blender, and slow-cooker. It even has a dishwasher. There is also a washer/dryer combo as well.
Sorry, this is NOT a pet-friendly cabin. We do allow pre-approved dogs at our other cabins.
The cabin is best to accommodate couples or those with children or teens. The second bedroom has a daybed with a pull-out trundle that takes up most of the flood space. While it is perfect for kids, not so much for adults. The closet in that room is also inaccessible due to storage of housekeeping supplies.
The town of Blue Ridge is less than a 10-minute drive north where you will find great restaurants, shopping, and the famous Swann Drive-In Theater. Ellijay is about 15 minutes south and it too has a great downtown square with lots of great shops and restaurants as well. There are at least a dozen wonderful wineries in and around these two towns that we highly recommend. Don't miss a minute of the fun and relaxation you've been craving. Summary: My husband and I took a last-minute trip to Blue Ridge to celebrate his birthday and I'm so glad we found the Rusty Goat! It was perfect for the two of us, immaculately clean and probably the coziest cabin we've ever stayed at, and convenient to both Ellijay and Blue Ridge. Sandy was an excellent host, very responsive in communications and gave us very clear driving directions and instructions. We had a wonderful weekend and would love to visit again in the future!

Summary: This cozy cabin is perfect for a getaway for two. I stayed with my daughter on a short mother/daughter getaway. Summary: My Fiancé and I came up for the weekend celebrating our anniversary. Beautiful cabin, very clean, beautifully decorated, great location. Sitting on the porch with that view and listening to the birds chirping was so peaceful. The owner was wonderful. We love the outdoors so we loved being close to several wildlife management areas.
