2 Bedroom Cottage in Ovens

Your own private aspect at the rear of the cottage faces onto a setting of eucalyptus and bush land that spreads up the hillside behind. It will comfortably sleep 4 however additional beds can be made available if necessary. With fully self contained services, heating and cooling, we trust that you find all of the facilities suitable for an enjoyable stay.
A modern kitchen and bathroom with a separate shower and bath.
Large double sliding doors open up on to a sunny verandah with bush views. Here you will find a Weber BBQ. A second deck overlooks Mount Buffalo.
Laundry facilities can be made available on request.
Unfortunately we cannot take pets at this property.
Children under 12 months of age stay for free, but please include total numbers in your booking so we can plan accordingly.
Locality
Conveniently located on the Great Alpine Rd, 9km from Myrtleford and 22km from Bright. Historical Beechworth and the King Valley food & wine region are an easy day trip.
The Murray to Mountains Rail Trail is accessible a few hundred metres away for a family friendly cycling experience.
For a fun winter day out the nearest snow field at Mt Buffalo is 45 minutes away.
Property
The cottages are located on an old tobacco farm established in the 1920s. Historically it was built to house the workers & their families who lived on the farm, as was customary for the many Italian tobacco farmers at the time. The tobacco kilns remain at the front of the property as a reminder of an industry that is an integral part of the agricultural history of the region.
We have sheep and alpacas on the property which you are welcome to feed with prior arrangement. Our farmstay experience is non-hosted meaning we don't have a set routine each day. If you would like to have a more interactive experience we are happy to assist with some hand feeding and petting when possible.
There is also plenty of native wildlife too with birds, kangaroos wombats and sometimes even echidnas. They are naturally a lot more shy making it a much rarer experience. The private bush at the rear of the property has various walking tracks of a medium to hard level.

Summary: This was fantastic. The cottage exceeded our expectations in some lovely ways - a view of snow topped Mt Buffalo from the verandah, the beautiful surroundings, freshly backed bread waiting for us on arrival.... this place was so perfect. Well situated to explore the area, we used it to access Yackandandah, Beechworth, Eldorado and Mt Buffalo for walks, photography, wineries, distilleries and fossicking. We’ll absolutely be back, the area has so much to offer and the cottage was a perfect place to stay.

Summary: Our family of 5 (3 kids aged 13, 11 and 9) had a wonderful time. Property was spotless and well equipped with everything we needed. Perfect place to relax and unwind. Close to the rail trail and an easy drive to Myrtleford, Bright, Mt Buffalo, Beachworth and Yackandanda. Recommend for people wanting to have a relaxing and active break. Note: limited wifi and phone coverage which we actually really liked! Truly able to unwind and disconnnect.

Summary: Magnificent views, peaceful surroundings, great hosts. A perfect place to spend a relaxing weekend. Everything about the property and the way it is managed was spot on. However, the Stayz booking process was difficult to navigate.

Summary: Joe and Jo were fabulous hosts. We arrived at the propoerty late at night to find a beautifully warm and fully lit cottage which was so clean but also so homely and welcoming. The cottage had everything we needed and it was beautifully decorated with all the comforts you need for a getaway. The home made bread was delicious. Highly recommend this place.

Summary: Location of this property was great for us. 10 mins from Myrtleford, on the Rail Riding Track, not far to Bright and Mount Buffalo for great scenery, walks, food and wine. Cottage 1 was very comfortable and clean. There was only two of us but there was room for another couple or two kids. A second family could rent the 2nd cottage for a great time. The Autumn weather was perfect.

Summary: We loved the Sharefarmers Cottage 1. It was spotlessly clean, comfortable, modern and spacious. Staying on a farm with all of the old sheds, machinery and animals was an added bonus and the views towards the mountains were spectacular. The hosts were also incredibly kind and helpful. We can't recommend this place highly enough!

Summary: These cottages are ideal for our little cycling group of 8. They are close to the Murray to Mountains Rail Trail and we can go in either direction on the Trail, or further afield in the car. The cottages are clean, user friendly, plenty of equipment to be totally self contained. Our hosts can never do enough to make us happy.

Summary: We chose this place to stay over the Easter break, and glad that we did. It is a beautiful place. The natural setting adds a very serene feel. The property is very modern and cosy inside. Everything is provided. We had no complaints and had an excellent stay. Wish we could stay for few more days. If yiu want to stay away from the hustle bustle of the urban life, then this place is the best. And surprisisngly cheap for such a quality accomodation. We will be definitely back there.
