Summary: Photos on the site are not representative of the property or rooms. The pub is not maintained to a good standard. Carpet leading up the stairs to the bedrooms was filthy. Room itself looked clean enough. The bathroom was the oddest thing I've ever seen. The sink was on top of the toilet due to lack of space. The sealant and grouting in the shower was black with mould. The room was in the eaves of the pub. There was a low beam over the bed, this was dangerous (yes there are signs to say watch your head), but if you need to get up in the night, a guest could easily bang their head. The room we booked showed a different photo of the room. We did not use the bathroom other than for the toilet. There is a sink in the bedroom which we used to brush our teeth. The bedding had seen better days with the pillowcases ripped at the seams. Strangely, the bed was comfortable and we slept OK. Our TV did not seem to work. The free WiFi signal did not reach up to our room. Property says there is free parking, which is technically true, with only parking available on the streets around the pub. Yes, it is cheap, but a certain standard should be provided, regardless of cost.

Summary: Pros- Staff were lovely and check in was easy. On street parking is free. On first impressions room looks really nice with lovely features, ceiling decor, bathroom tiles, exposed brick walls etc. Cons- Room wasn't actually that clean, floors hadn't been mopped, with spill marks, hairs on bathmat, not disgusting just not spotless. Room was crazy hot, thought it was due to warm weather that day and it would cool in the evening with the window open. Room was on main road and traffic noise was unbearable with the window open so had to be hot with it closed. Bed was starting to fall apart as you need to climb over the end to get out of it as its so close to the wall. The matress was really soft and lumpy and pillows weren't great. There's a rail to hang clothes on in a really awkward place near the other side of the bed and my husband smacked his face off of it when getting up in the night. Obviously this all was during the night and the pub was closed in the morning at check out so we couldn't speak to anyone about it. Overall the place has potential to be great with a few tweaks, maybe a fan for hot weather and a new bed.

Summary: Very Friendly. Everything you need in the room. Just a bus ride away from Halifax centre bus stops right aside the pub.

Summary: Just spent the 1 night here & it was really great. Room was small but had all you need. Very clean & staff were friendly. Would definitely stay again.

Summary: Budget hotel with Budget facilities. No food, only bar snacks. Sole member of staff on duty was a barmaid. Well presented bedroom in the attic. Only natural light by a Velux window which wouldn't completely shut. The roof leaked because of biblical rain & unable to change rooms as fully booked. Bed had to be moved to avoid the leak. Not ideal!! In fairness the barmaid was as helpful as could be with the offer of a room, if available, at a sister hotel but no guaranteed parking and by then had been drinking. On the plus side, nice well stocked bar with good selection of ales.
