Positive: The location was amazing, the views outstanding. The hideaway was very high spec.
Negative: The hideaway lodge was not very clean, the pans were dirty, the shelves in wardrobe thick of dust which marked my clothes, no dishwasher tablets or washing up liquid or tea towel so had to buy these to use dishwasher. No soap in bathroom to wash hands. Cannot sit at bench to eat a meal as fridge is in the way, could do with a gate to secure dogs on the decking as it’s pitch black as spot lights don’t work on pathway. Fire pit doesn’t work and only one wine glass. The bin and cutlery draw were very dirty also. This was all such a shame as the hideout was lovely.
Summary: Lovely place shame about cleanliness and lack of essential items.

Positive: Lovely location for exploring Richmond and beyond. We're fans of compact living, so we loved the fact the accommodation was all on one level as we have a 14 year old Golden Retriever who isn't very mobile. The view from the lodge, the peace and quiet, the massive super king bed and the bathroom were all simply amazing! Would recommend the Brownlow Arms for food and a game of pool too!
Negative: We noticed after we'd booked that there had been several comments on Sykes Cottages about the fridge being warm, but thought that it would have been resolved by the time we arrived. Luckily, everything we needed to keep cold fitted in the wine fridge! The wine fridge location is probably why the fridge is warm, as its adjacent. We had a couple of hiccups with no hot water for a day or so and the outdoor fire not lighting, but James tried his best to get things sorted quickly.
Summary: A very relaxing stay in a lovely location. Our dogs had the best time too! Would recommend.
