Positive: Lovely spacious property, in a nice quiet location but within a few minutes walk of the village facilities and only a few miles from Durham. Easy to reach local sights such as Beamish (excellent) and Ushaw House (outstanding). All mod cons and nice to have 3 bedrooms all fully en-suite. Very well equipped with everything we needed. Only about a mile or so from the park and ride service into the middles of Durham which avoided the crowds and trying to park. Village pubs very nice but only one does food which we used twice.

Negative: In late October the weather was a bit nippy and although the central heating worked well downstairs, it seemed a bit less efficient upstairs and some of the rooms were on the cold side.

Summary: A lovely few days in a well located, well equipped, quiet and comfortable property

Positive: Lovely spacious accommodation. Clean linen and comfy beds. Good water pressure for showers. Kitchen generally well equipped. Log burner with logs supplied. Bottle of prosseco and chocolates nice touch on arrival. Great location for Durham city centre and Beamish museum. Would definitely stay again. Also recommend Top Notch Scotch Egg Masterclass.

Negative: A couple of pots and pans weren't clean. Could do with a couple of smaller pans. Fans in bathrooms didn't work very well.

Positive: This has got to be one of the nicest holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in. The kitchen is so well equipped , Chris and his wife have thought of everything for a comfortable stay. The beds are lovely and cozy with beautiful bedding. The property is well laid out. Secure garden for the dogs and lovely country walks for them. We would definitely stay again.

Positive: Very spacious, very comfortable, very clean, lovely facilities. En-suite bathrooms to every bedroom and a downstairs toilet. Historical features like the beams, steps and old turnip-processing machine. Plenty of everything for 6 people. We didn’t bring our dog but appreciate the secure garden if we had done.

Negative: It’s a little way out of Durham itself - but quiet and peaceful.

Summary: Beautiful property and very spacious for 6 people.
