Positive: Beautiful view from balcony, very modern and comfortable hotel style room. Big bathroom with great shower (with a view!), mini fridge, safe and hanging space for clothes. Martha left us beers/wine/water and snacks too. Martha was the best host, she was so helpful with maps/info and suggestions to make the most of our stay. She booked boat tours and restaurants for us, and all her recommendations were perfect. Thank you Martha for making our stay!
Negative: Nothing! Even walk up was in its own way enjoyable.

Positive: Martha is the best host that you could possibly ask for. She gave us fantastic recommendations to make the most of each day in the Cinque Terre. She even offered to make our restaurant reservations and booked us an amazing discounted cooking class experience and a gorgeous boat tour. She was so generous with her time. The room is comfortable and well appointed. Highly recommend the Upper House!

Positive: A newly renovated, modern accommodation at Riomaggiore, Cinque Terre, which is hard to find in the area. The owner Martha is very friendly and hospitable and the check in process was extremely smooth considering how complicated the roads are in Rio. Highly recommended.
Negative: Nothing much. It’s on the expansive side though but I guess the whole area is expansive.

Positive: Our stay at The Upper House was the highlight of our trip to Italy. Martha is the perfect host - communicative, friendly, and so, so helpful. Her place was amazing - great space (especially the amazing shower!), amazing view, and easy to access the town. The property had it all - slippers for in the room, ample towels, mini toiletries, coffee/tea, a mini fridge with a few welcome beers/wine, beach towel, umbrella, and well labeled maps for getting around Cinque Terre! Martha is what makes the place special though - her assistance in booking a sunset boat tour and a pasta cooking class made our trip so special. We will be back!!

Positive: Everything was exceptional, from the modern look of the unit, cleanliness, and comfort (with actual AC that worked well) to our host, Martha’s incredible knowledge of the area and ability to offer all of her service to book reservations and more! It was all so wonderful!
Negative: For those who may have mobility issues, there are a lot of steps….but this is Cinque Terre in general!

Positive: The Upper House was my first stop on my first solo international trip. I was beyond impressed with the service provided by Martha. I felt very comfortable during my stay, Martha spent time with me when I first arrived to teach me how the passes work in Cinque Terre, as well as giving me her top recommendations on what to do during my stay, helping me make the most of the 3 days I had in Cinque Terre. She made it known she would be available for any questions I had, and she was very helpful and responsive when I did ask for help. The accommodation was clean, very modern and had lots of nice touches; like a coffee machine, mini fridge stocked with complimentary snacks and beverages and a map of all the sights to see in Cinque Terre (which Martha kindly talked through with me). I would highly recommend all to stay at The Upper House!
