Our cabin hosts a kitchen, living area, master bedroom, bunk room, bathroom with an additional “little house” for extra sleeping comfort on 5 acres on the top of a mountain next to the Sleepy Creek Wildlife Area 7 miles from Berkeley Springs. Get away from life’s daily drama to a captivating and beautiful place. You have a cell phone signal, but no cable tv, bring your dvd's. This place is all about being with nature! Enjoy a fire pit, corn hole, horseshoes, and a hammock onsite!
Perfect setting for couples, families with kids, girls trips, guy trips. Basically, anyone who enjoys hanging out with Mother Nature!!
The road to our cabin is an adventurous dirt road, an SUV is recommended. There are other homes on the mountain with small children, so we ask that you drive slow up and down the mountain.
We want and expect you’ll be quite comfortable in either one of our abodes, but the outside is where it’s at!
The “Little House” consists of bedroom 3 which has a full size bed, dresser, and tv/dvd, bedroom 4 is a loft with two singles. You can also enjoy mountain biking, hiking, picnicking (at the park below), fishing, and swimming nearby. When you rent our cabin(s), you rent the entire property and you're not sharing it with anyone outside your group.
New for 2022: New Hammock!! We are also busy cleaning up after the winter here!! Improvements include Staining the Main Cabin, Painting the "Little House", Pressure Washing both Cabins, New bed linens, and preparing for your arrival!! All of the appliances have been replaced within the last 18 months and we are ready to host you and your family/friends!!
We have a security system and external cameras that are for safety and are not on during guest visits.

Summary: We booked for a stay from May 3-May 6. When we arrived at night, we used the door code to quickly get in. There was a lot of crunching noises under our feet, and so we turned on the light to find SEVERAL stink bugs both dead and alive littered on the living room floor, bathroom floor, kitchen and bathroom sinks, all window sills, on beds, the couch, in the shower. Everywhere. We set aside our exhaustion and swept as much as we could. I chose the king bedroom since I had my newborn with me. My husband would stay in the room with the four bunkbeds with my other two kids (ages 6 and 18mo). The next morning, it was quiet and we had nice views in the woods. We got more stink bugs (we figured the cabin wasn't sealed properly in many places) and had to sweep and vacuum numerous times. I don't mind bugs, but this was excessive for an indoor cabin. We had friends come to spend the day with us. They were originally supposed to spend the night in the mini house next door(we had paid for the appropriate number of people) but they changed their minds after seeing the place. The next day, same routine--clean up the bugs. Our friends warned us about a rain that was coming which would potentially make the river dangerous to drive through and we didn't want to risk getting stuck in the mud. We DID get an AWD car per the listing but since we already were frustrated with all the bugs, we didn't want an extra reason to possibly get stuck at the cabin any longer than we needed to. We left late morning on the 5th of May (our check out would have been the 6th of May). We tied up both trash bags as requested in the notes. (I realized I left a hotdog in the microwave as we got onto the main road because that was going to be my lunch-sorry about that!) I left extra bottles of water in the fridge. We went to stay with our friends and had a good rest of the trip. We came home on May 7. My husband said he was itchy and I noticed my daughter was itching her body a lot. Didn't think much of it until my 18mo old was sent home from daycare that Monday morning. I took my two kids to urgent care, and the doctor took a look and said it was highly likely it was BED BUGS! I didn't have any and neither did my newborn. It must have been the bunkbed room. I'm a very flexible person, but I was so disappointed of the overall trip to say the least. This is all my personal experience and others may have it differently but I want to be open so that the host can make proper fixes. -

Summary: I booked this cabin in March for My husband as his birthday gift to use in June. He loves camping, but I’ve never camped and our 5 yr old is not quite ready for camping in a tent. The cabin surpassed my expectations!! It was wonderful and my son loved the “clubhouse “ adjacent to the cabin and he and can’t wait to return with a friend! We went down Rt 9 and found a steam for swimming and fishing and then at night built a fire in the fire pit and watched the sun set on the mountains. Clean, spacious , plenty of room to sleep, cool decor , and fun to chill and hang out. The front porch is wonderful and we loved making breakfast on the outdoor griddle! Pics don’t do this rental justice. We can’t wait to go back next year!
