Positive: The person at reception when we arrived was very good indeed - friendly and welcoming and changed our room (for one with a walk-in shower rather than a bath) without fuss. The same person also served us in the bar later on and their manner throughout our stay contributed significantly to our enjoyment of the Watermill. The room was clean, comfortable and remarkable value for money. There is plenty of (free) on-site parking.

Negative: A little more water pressure in the shower would have been appreciated.

Summary: A comfortable and affordable hotel close to Berkhamsted

Positive: Staff were excellent, very helpful, smiley, and friendly. Haven't been to a hotel in a long time where we were shown to our room by the receptionist. Next town had loads of places to eat.

Negative: Bed mattress was very soft

Negative: I didn't like the matress. I booked a king size bed but it was 2 singles together.

Positive: The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great & for a small fee they delivered it to my room. I like the flowing water and it was very peaceful. Although it's quite dated & in need of updating they are in the process of refurbishment. The manager doesn't hesitate to assist you with things. Staff even carried my luggage. The bed was comfortable and the linen was crisp & white. The complimentary toiletries were a nice touch including a box of tissues & very much appreciated water. The outside decking is a serene setting and very enjoyable. I was under the impression the bar & restaurant were both temporarily shut. However the bar does open. They offer room cleaning daily aswell.

Negative: The room was in good condition just needs updating, carpets & curtains etc. It was hot weather so was warm in the room as no ac. However it was possible to open a little window with a safety cord attached. Only one double plug socket was not great as it was above the opposite desk drawer unit with the tv, phone and kettle etc. I had to keep swapping my speaker,hot brush,pedi,phone etc. There is freeview however I would have liked to have sat in bed to watch something on my tablet. This wasn't possible as it was low on battery so could not charge it and watch until the next day. No big issue really however I thing providing a long extension would be helpful. Little limescale where the plug hangs & minimal in sink but spotless bathroom. The wall light fittings & draw ledges along with the mirror ledges need a proper dusting. Other than a bit of lint on carpet the room was clean and comfortable. They don't provide fans which might be a good idea in the future.

Negative: Check out would be better 12pm instead of 11 am. Provide more varieties for breakfast

Positive: It was a lovely hotel. The staff were polite they couldn't do enough, but we had some toddler running around till early hour, so I had hardly any sleep .i was exhausted the next day which ruined my meal and harry potter experience that my daughter had booked for an present we booked the hotel so we wasn't tired after a long drive from where we live but a waste of money we might as well came straight from home and did the drive
