Positive: The staff were very friendly and helpful, the lodge was spotless and the design well thought through, the double bed was extremely comfortable, the pub is great and the village is beautiful.
Negative: Dinner and breakfast were both a little slow to appear, the poached eggs at breakfast were slightly overdone (not runny) and breakfast generally felt a bit 'pre-prep & heat it up'.
Summary: Great pub, nice restaurant, v comfortable lodge in a beautiful village

Positive: A very cute place - contemporary cottages tucked behind a modern pub set in a quiet spot in the countryside. You will definitely get a good night's sleep. Friendly staff, nice menu selection and food. Booked a "basic lodge" room (Oak) and it was spacious, lots of natural light, had air conditioning, tea/coffee and tastefully decorated. Really very pleasant.
Negative: There did not seem to be any staff dedicated really to the cottages/lodges. You arrive and check in at the restaurant. No one offers to help with luggage, just shows you to the room. The path from the car park to the cottages is made of small rocks - so makes it extremely difficult if not impossible to roll your suitcase, so you basically have to carry it. For folks with even slight mobility issues, or any hand/shoulder issues, this is a challenge. There did not seem to be any staff to help with this. Cottage could have been cleaner. Room seemed not well vacuumed and bathroom seemed as if it was hastily cleaned and had to do some clean up on our own. Hotel is not staffed overnight, so at 11 pm if you realize you are missing a towel (as we did) you are out of luck. There is a number to call after hours to reach the on call staff person but they did not answer. No hair dryer in the room. Staff at the restaurant was very nice but on the slow side - there was a beer festival during our stay so it was quite full, perhaps this was the reason.
Summary: nice, w/ a little more effort could be super. would try again +request extra room TLC b4 arrival

Positive: Staff were really nice, the lodge was fairly clean, very spacious and had good amenities. Food was nice however overpriced for what it is. Breakfast was included in the room however and was very nice. Again staff were very friendly and I did receive a discount for not being able to use the hot tub.
Negative: I specifically booked this lodge for the hot tub as a anniversary gift, we got there and a lovely lady checked us in and took us to our room. She went to show us our to work the hot tub and discovered it 1, was only half full, 2, wasn’t preheated and 3, we couldn’t heat it or fill it as the hose was frozen. I understand the current weather however if they can’t offer the hot tub during the winter then it shouldn’t be available. It should’ve been preheated before we arrived. The lodge heating also wasn’t on when we arrived and it was freezing. The staff were very good and very apologetic and gave us a hefty discount on our dinner which was great. The food however was very over priced, is was good food but definitely not worth the prices, if you’re a tiramisu lover then don’t have it, it was awful. Following this we had a lovely sleep that was unfortunately cut short due to the fire alarm going off in the morning. We evacuated the lodge and walked to the front of the pub to find no body. The alarm was going off for approximately 15 minutes and no one checked for any guests, it was simply turned off and we went back to our room. Breakfast was nice, it was included in the room and the staff again were very friendly however over all I think we just had a bit of bad luck . Would come again in summer season when the hot tubs are guaranteed

Positive: The lodges are lovely, they are very new so clean and fresh. A good size. They are eco lodges so it's not the same as a hotel room, which we absolutely loved but I think some people wouldn't appreciate the slightly rustic outdoors side. The breakfast was great, all staff really friendly and we travelled with our two dogs who were very welcomed. We have family in the area so this will be our new stop over. It's lovely!
Negative: The room was a little cold and the water pressure isn't great but they provide a fan heater to get it going. The internet also isn't good, which as I was working wasn't helpful BUT these are very small trade offs for the lodge style.
Summary: Really lovely lodges!
