Positive: Good location and beautiful building

Negative: Cobwebs and dust in room. Mattress/topper very comfortable. Breakfast doesn't start until 8am weekends so only got to have 1/3 that we paid for.

Positive: The staff were friendly and check in was very simple. Breakfast was lovely and again staff were friendly and attentive. Room was compact but lovely and clean. The room was a short walk away from the pub area and we couldn't hear any noise at all from the pub. Our reason for travelling here was that we had a meal booked at Smoke at Hampton Manor, and this place was only a 3 minute walk away which was perfect.

Negative: There were no main lights in the room we stayed in, there were only 2 lamps which made getting ready in the evening a little difficult. The water pipes in the room were very old. There were no issues with the water pressure etc, but the pipes were banging a few times during the night and in the morning that lasted some time and did cause some disturbance.

Positive: Charming, characterful place with friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Breakfasts were home-cooked and delicious. Excellent location within easy reach of M42 and M6 but in a quiet, pretty village. Excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

Positive: Lovely atmosphere. Very welcoming. Great value and a proper pub ... Had dinner in the pub, was really good - the rooms aren't in the pub, but in a building to the side - small, but cosy and met all our needs for a one night stay. Great location, one train stop away from the NEC which is where we wanted to go.

Negative: Nothing. It was all good.

Positive: Good location. Just a few minutes walk to the train station & first stop Birmingham international & NEC. Excellent staff, warm & friendly pub. Great food.

Negative: I'm 6'2. It's a wonderful 400 year old property, but the bathroom & particularly the shower space is very cramped.

Summary: Would I stay again.. YES.
