Summary: While this townhouse is well priced and in an amazing location, steer clear. The moment we walked into the apartment, it smelled like mildew. In the main in-suite there were water marks on the wall above the tub. We were there during a pretty bad rain storm so we mentioned the smell and water stains to the contact. After about 5 hours, they finally responded and said that the water was just from the last family “splashing water” on the walls and the smell was fresh paint. (We know what wet paint smells like). We moved on with our night, but the next morning noticed the stains in the downstairs bathroom that does not have a tub or shower… and the place still smelled like mildew. It wasn’t until we got home and dug a little deeper in reviews did we notice another group had the same issue in 2022. To top all of this off, the AC is set in a way you cannot put it lower than 72 degrees and most of the bedrooms do not have ceiling fans… in Texas of all places. We stayed in May and it stayed warm, humid, and sticky in the house.

Summary: In the dark (entry lights inside and out) it took a while to get the key from the lockbox. Most things were as advertised and a few extras (coffee, yay) but somethings that I expected to be there, were missing: hangars, drinking glasses, for example. But overall, our stay was adequate to our needs.

Summary: Me and the family enjoyed our stay at this property. It’s a great location and is a nice clean house. The option to use the garage was great. The property owner was very easy to communicate with. I do suggest bringing you a small fan if you get hot at night like I do. The AC is set to hold at 72 which was great for my family. But I tend to get a bit hot at night so I did get a little uncomfortable. The TVs in each room along with live TV was great for our family. Located close to many places to eat and a short drive into Houston. Overall great stay.

Summary: We were really excited to find a cute townhouse in the woodlands area for our trip. However, upon arrival, we noticed the house was extremely hot. We found that while the thermostat was set to 72, the house was reading 80 inside. I contacted the host and was told that we should give it a little bit of time to cool off. After nearly an hour, the temperature hadn’t changed and with young kids all under 5, we couldn’t stay and continue to wait there. I contacted the host again and was told that they thought maybe the coil had frozen and we needed to shut the AC off for 12 hours to let it reset. Obviously we couldn’t stay in a house without AC in the middle of the Texas summer. We were fortunate to know someone who let us stay with them as the host offered no help in finding a place to stay for the evening. We came back to the house in the morning and turned the AC back on. We waited another hour and the AC still didn’t cool. The host then said that I would need to meet an AC technician at the house at 2pm. There was no way I could keep my kids in a hot house for the entire day and then waste my vacation time meeting an AC tech. I also then walked into the master bathroom and noticed water damage all over the walls. I sent the pictures to the host and told him something was wrong and there was likely mold growing behind the walls. He never responded to that. After waiting until almost 12 the second day, the host provided no response or help other than to wait for the AC tech. At that point we made the decision to find somewhere else to stay. We had already spent 2 days of our short vacation dealing with issues and not enjoying the friends we came to see. The host would not respond to our request for a refund or additional accommodations. We have contacted vrbo and the host has stated they will not provide a refund. It really is unfortunate as the townhouse has the potential to be a cute place for a family vacation.
