Positive: I had a spacious room with desk, sofa and chair. There was an enclosed shower stall in the bathroom, hence no water flowing on the bathroom floor. My room, and the facilities in general were very clean. The lift is card activated for security reasons. The staff was courteous and helpful. The breakfast room was spacious and attractive and the breakfast selection was quite good. The hotel's location is excellent in that it is a stone's throw from Aker Brygge, a waterfront residential and commercial area with numerous cafes, bars and restaurants.
Negative: There was a clothes rack and an ample number of clothes hangers in my room, but no closet space. Hence, much of the clothes stayed in the suitcase. Apart from the breakfast room, there is no restaurant for hotel guests. Hence, there was no food, snacks or coffee to be had there after breakfast. There was no telephone in my room, something that could be a problem for seniors during an emergency.
Summary: Good hotel at Aker Brygge
