Positive: We stayed in the Manor House, which was amazing. Such a nice house. The Sunset Deck is amazing, and love the lights here in the evening also. Very nice staff, so amazing and helpfull. We will recommed Thorhill to all our friends and would love to come back.

Positive: The location was perfect for our needs. The staff were friendly, and it was peaceful. The bar man was delightful.
Negative: Value for money. For SA guests it was not what was expected. The food was not at all great - was done by a cook and not a chef. More local ingredients and a variety could have been included e.g. choice of for lunch and supper. A menu should be provided in the morning allowing you to have a choice of food - 2 out of the 3 nights served pork - which I do not eat. I did not like the staff asking what we were planning on doing each day - it seemed all they wanted was us to be out of the lodge and using their overpriced excursions that we could do on our own. The tea and coffee in the rooms were not great - how can you offer Ricoffee? At least there should be Nescafe sachets. There was no milk only coffee creamer - who drinks this in their tea?? the coffee in the morning was so weak and watered down

Positive: Food was good, Staff were very helpful and friendly, Rooms were comfortable and spacious. Wildlife setting and views were beautiful. Everything was well maintained. Bar was well stocked and fairly priced. The arranged Game Drive was very good and we managed to see three of the big five.
Negative: Guided Walk didn't meet value for money expectation. We literally walk 2 km's, My family expected at least 5km walk for the value charged. Not being able to move freely from the camp on foot was a little restricting.
Summary: Overall, we would visit again.

Positive: Location to attractions and the helpfulness of the staff in planning activities. The evening we dined in the boma was most enjoyable and is a reminder of why we love going to the bush. The staff are all very friendly and helpful.
Negative: No one helped carry bags when we arrived or left, which was odd given that you got a face / hand towel to freshen up and a welcome drink on arrival. The lodge has all the makings of a 5 star stay in terms of all-inclusive meals & staff to wait on you, yet in other regards, it doesn't quite hit the mark. Depending on who you had on service for your meals would also depend on the level of attentiveness. Breakfast was done differently with different staff. I would have expected continuity. The rooms are intimate & I personally think the soap dispensors in the bathrooms should go. It doesn't fit with the level of comfort you're trying to give guests. Locally sourced hand soaps bottles are much nicer in a bathroom than a commercial soap dispensor. As there is no TV, the board game selection could be improved, there where only 3 games to choose from.
