Positive: Beautiful location not far from the main tourist attractions and surrounded by beauty and charm. Well thought out thought out with above and beyond amenities--options to eat at local restaurants or pick up ingredients for your own culinary adventure on site. The little touches like a freshly baked loaf for our hike and attentiveness to details in the cleaning and convenience made it a wonderful time.
Negative: Both my friend and I agree that the coffee could have been better! :) Also, notably more communication with the host on certain platforms (specifically, facebook) than through the booking.com website or instagram (just a tip when you are booking--Jodean is responsive on both of these platforms but quicker on facebook!
Summary: Stunning location, clean and comfortable room, thoughtful touches

Positive: Good bed. Kitchenette was well equipped. New building. On the lakeshore. Excellent breakfast. Friendly and caring host. On the shoreline of Lake Huron.
Negative: Location was farther away from Tobermory than we thought which is Ok if you are planning visits to the singing sands and the Grotto which are close by. The kitchenette sink was a challenge to wash large items.
Summary: A relaxing and friendly place to stay. A caring host with great breakfasts to enjoy.

Positive: My husband and I loved this place. We were lucky to be the very first guests, and we can confidently say it’s in a great location, with a beautiful view from the balcony. It’s peaceful and surrounded by the lake. Less than a one-minute walk to the back of the house gives you access to the lake, lounge chairs, and a stunning view (including the sunrise if you're an early bird). Walking less than two minutes in the opposite direction gives you the best view of the sunset. Inside, the bedroom is splendid and super comfortable—we couldn’t have slept better. The small kitchen has everything you need to prepare snacks or meals to get through the day and save money. We even found vanilla for our coffee, and the coffee machine was excellent! The bathroom is spotless and fully equipped, including moisturizing creams, bug spray, and toothbrushes with toothpaste. Jodean, the host, was always kind and available, ready to help and offer advice whenever needed. And the breakfasts were delicious! Jodean gave us multiple options in advance, which we really appreciated—it wasn’t limited to the typical "American breakfast.". The most outstanding part was the decor—including Jodean’s beautiful paintings—and how thoughtfully everything was arranged. Words probably fall short in describing the wonderful experience we had, but if we had to sum it up: beautiful and cozy! Tobermory Tides is absolutely recommended. I would return without hesitation.
