Originally settled in 1903 by ancestors of the current owners, the farmhouse stands today in its original position. While we are no longer farming cherries or hops, there is still a chance to see hay get cut and baled or to stroll out and pick fresh raspberries for your breakfast.
With plenty of room to roam inside and out, the Hop Hill house has a main floor master bedroom with a queen sized bed and attached bath and 3 bright and spacious upstairs bedrooms equipped with double beds. There is an additional full bath upstairs and a half bath downstairs. The living room is large enough for the whole family to gather in comfortably and the dining room can seat up to 10 easily. The kitchen is fully equipped just like at home including a dishwasher for easy cleanup! If you are looking for a quiet place to sit and read or do a puzzle, check out the den. Help yourself to one of the many novels!
There are 40 plus acres of woods and fields to hike or mountain bike or just relax under the shade of the maple trees and bird watch. Grill out on the back deck and then enjoy a campfire under the stars! The stars will never seem brighter than what they are out in the countryside! If you are lucky, you might even see the Northern Lights!

Within a half hour drive of the house you have the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park which was named the most beautiful place in America by viewers of Good Morning America. Sign up for a trip on the charter boat Leelanautical out of historic Fishtown in the village of Leland and you can guarantee yourself a day of fun, fishing and sightseeing on Lake Michigan! Take the Manitou Transit ferry over to the Manitou Islands and hike the island. You have cherry orchards, apple orchards, and vineyards! Things to do include checking out the wineries, breweries and distilleries. Hit some of the various golf courses or go hiking, biking or boating! You are never more than a few minutes from a lake and beach. Comb the beaches of Leland or Good Harbor for Petoskey stones or Leland Blue stone. Summary: Great location for a week stay for our daughters wedding. Debs house has everything you could ask for. Plenty of space, great yard, comfortable beds. Peaceful beautiful setting and a qhistoric farm. Highly recommend for a true Leelanau County feel.

Summary: My husband and I have been going to Northern Michigan since 1981. This trip was to Hop Hill Farm, an expansive area of meadow, trees, flowerbeds, and lawn. Idyllic spot for 3 generations of family to explore the beaches, towns, cook elaborate dinners, make s’mores in the fire pit, read and play games. The house had hints of its age of 100 years with updates from the 60’s and modern bathrooms of today. It was the best. Everything we needed was there. My granddaughter loved the child bed in her parents room and the cozy den to read her stack of books brought from home. The den had a small library. My granddaughter liked the encyclopedias a lot. She said it was the best house and asked if we could we come back? The one year old loved the circle connection of living room, dining room, kitchen and back to living room. The furniture, including beds were very comfortable. The Hopp Farm is a place we’d love to return to. Thanks to Deb for being a wonderful host!

Summary: It is the perfect location for everything we wanted in a vacation. The house is located within 15 - 30 minutes of beaches, golf courses, wineries, hiking trails, and small quaint towns. There is an ample amount a space for grand children to run around and enjoy the outdoors. The house is very clean with a lot of space, and the host was fantastic, allowing our grand kids to pick raspberries. We are hoping to return again next year.

Summary: We loved it! 10 minutes to the beach. Turn of the century, 120 year old farmhouse with fully equipped kitchen and 2.5 bath. Loved the laundry and the back deck. Daily visits from resident chipmunks and hummingbirds. Really nice AC though we opted for windows open.
