Positive: On entering the apartment,I didn't know what to expect. It was spacious with large bed , wardrobe, bedside cabinets and dressing table. ,well laid out. A 2 seater leather couch and chair placed opposite a wood log burner stove. There's a fully fitted kitchen at the other end with a table and 2 chairs. 3 windows that looked into the market square and one facing up the main road. Hardly any noise from people or traffic. Apartment was very clean and to a high standard.
Negative: Nothing not to like.
Summary: Ideal market town property.

Positive: It was perfect for us!! We stayed for 6 nights and we didn't need anything because it had all been provided for us. It was a very comfortable, clean apartment and was in a perfect location in the village heart of Alston. Next door to the apartment was the co-op and across the road was a drop off launderette. Breakfast goodies were left for us and the owners were on hand (they own the shop below the apartment) if we needed anything. 10 out of 10

Positive: It was lovely to find a tiger loaf, butter, eggs and milk as well as cereal. A gem of a studio apartment, a great space, comfortable furniture, bed and dining table. Great location, easy distance to Haltwhistle and Hexham. There's a shop next door for any food items needed. Takeaway across the square but I think it was closed on the days we were there. Amanda was on holiday but she very kindly took the trouble to contact us to check all was well. Dawn, who met us on our arrival, couldn't have been any more welcoming and friendly. We felt right at home.
Negative: As we didn't eat out but cooked in the kitchen, a small paring knife, hand balloon whisk and sieve or colander would have been handy but this wouldn't stop us at all from booking again.

Positive: Great location to explore the North Pennines! Visited the Gauge railway a 5 minute walk away and then visited the Roman museum and other sites along Hadrian's Wall. We really enjoyed the local cafe's and bakery in the area. The property was lovely and we were looked after by our host really well.
Negative: The local town is quite quiet during the week, so I would recommend phoning ahead for local pubs and booking meals.
