Positive: Near train station. Have many restaurants near.
Negative: It is old apartment modify to hotel. Aisle outside room is open air,feel is not safety. Room is small and old but clean. Bath's room celling is low about 190cm, it can hit your head. We had bad experience about breakfast, it have not many items. Cooker (woman) is very restrictive to checked every persons and told us don't take off any food from breakfast room , one piece of any things cannot take off. So much restrictive, we didn't see before at another Toyoko Inn. We have very bad felling about her action. So sorry about these. Hotel should write the rules in English or tell to customers when check in, it isn't gentle to claim customers by cooker. I think this hotel is under standard for Toyoko Inn Hotel.

Positive: Thank you to Kobayashi-san, at the reception desk, I accidentally put in the wrong address for my airport pickup, but you helped clear things up very quickly, I didn't have to do anything at all. The staff was all very enthusiastic and understanding, if you're at the breakfast hall in the morning you'll be greeted by everybody. There are only 4 rooms per floor, so if you're a private person like me, you'll love it here. The location is only a 5min walk to Otsuka JR station, and there's a bunch of shops and local restaurants/services around if you like to walk and explore. Wifi speed, water pressure etc. are all great.

Positive: The location can't be faulted - the hotel is located about a minute's walk from Otsuka station and has numerous convenience stores, supermarkets, shops and restaurants nearby. I really liked the staff who were as helpful as they could be despite my limited Japanese. The Wi-Fi consistently worked and the free breakfast was always a welcome bonus. The most surprising thing was the setup of the hotel, which is closer to the style of Japanese apartments with room access exposed to the elements instead of a traditional hotel that is entirely enclosed.
Negative: The room was very small and the bathroom was extremely cramped. I'm only 5'6" and my head came close to the ceiling when standing in the shower. The room had a desk but only a stool instead of a chair. Fortunately the helpful staff let me borrow a chair for the duration of my stay. Housekeeping only occurs every 4 days as opposed to daily in most other hotels I've stayed in. I found the bed to be very uncomfortable (it was as hard as a rock). For some reason the hotel has only a single washer and dryer for some 60+ potential guests? At least it's indoors though.

Positive: Breakfast is good. Location is good.
Negative: As if my friends are bad persons, the people at reception doesn’t allow to go to my room. They just came to meet me but didn’t allow. I really didn’t like.
Summary: Overall, the service is good. I recommend this hotel.
