Positive: The breakfasts are great and the owner was very friendly and attentive. The cabin had a great view of the town and is within walking distance from the main parts of Chaiten.

Negative: For the price, the cabin is fairly small and looks old and a bit rickety. Unfortunately, I think this might simply reflect the state of the hotel industry in Chaiten.

Summary: Great breakfast and views but overpriced for the state of the cabins.

Positive: The room is spacious, clean, comfortable and absolutely cosy with the wood stove which also keeps it very warm. The landlady Doria, kind and friendly, served a delicious breakfast, everything fresh and tasty. About the location, I can just say that it is few minutes (by car) from ferry terminal

Positive: A lovely host, kind and caring. She lit up the stove, even when it was a bit late at night. Nice breakfast with eggs, marmelade, avocado, cheese and some delicious pastry. Clean. Cosy, romantic room with Garden view.

Positive: The grounds are nice and pretty, there's a large common/dining room with a wood stove, and the bathrooms are off decent size. It isn't far from the town center. The breakfasts made by the owner are excellent. Most of the staff was very pleasant.

Negative: The facility is not in good repair, there are cracking doors, holes in walls, stairs that are a little loose. They are not very responsive online. And the owner, while very pleasant seeming, does not do a good job at maintaining the place or at actually helping guests with their issues. She will appear to be concerned and make gestures that seem like she's trying to resolve a problem, but really she uses the fact that she's under staffed and overworked as a screen not to do much. In the short time I was there I watched one guest get given a mold filled room, another set of cabins had the TV and showers not working, and I was given a nice upgrade but then had to leave it later because other guests had wanted to switch rooms. The guest with the mold was taken around to some other rooms but even though there were ones available the owner did everything to steer her towards the mold room. She spent the night there and then had eye issues the next day and had to find a new hotel. And the owner told her she didn't know about the mold before,but I heard her discussing it before the guest showed up. I was moved from my upgraded room so she could give it to guests who wanted to switch, but she already knew the shower and tv didn't work there. And when I had told her the shower was either scalding hot or freezing cold with zero in between her solution was that I could move to the house with a shared bathroom or stay in that room and just deal with it. But not that I could stay in that room and just used the shared bathroom in the house. The shower in that main house was a little better but still not stable, you'd get maybe 60-90 seconds of good water temp. For what the place currently is it is expensive and while the owner does get extremely busy, for what she's charging there's no reason she can't hire an extra person to help her.

Summary: A place with great food and potential but poorly run and expensive for what you get.

Positive: Lovely place and wonderful people. They went out of their way to help me and make certain that I was comfortable. I was offered a delicious meal at their warm cozy restaurant and then was escorted safely to my room as it was then dark and impossible to see. The room was elegant and quiet. I was taking the ferry the next day and it was only a few minutes on their quiet road. I would highly recommend a stay here; it is close to the center and ferry but far enough away to be quiet. Parking is not visible from the road and felt very secure. The tiny restaurant was intimate, warm and inviting after a long day of travel. The host was delightful and with my limited Spanish helped with English and made everything much easier for me.

Negative: I have nothing negative to add.

Summary: Lovely, relaxing, and inviting after a long drive.
