Positive: After my plane was cancelled, I did not want to sit around the airport so I booked an overnight at Triton and figured I could enjoy another beach day. It was more of a pool day. While Triton is located on the water, rocky coral cliffs prevent you from walking too far or swimming. The 2 lovely swimming pools (including a cool glass infinity pool) and friendly bar staff were more than helpful in keeping the cocktails coming and making food recommendations. It was a very quiet and relaxing day spent reading by the pool. The room accommodation was very spacious and AC worked great. The hotel owner was able to help make an early morning car reservation for me to return to the airport following a nice big hearty breakfast that included made to order eggs and fruit. Everybody was very kind and I was very appreciative despite my unplanned short stay. I would recommend more people from Santo Domingo to come to the restaurant for a day trip and enjoy the pool and great food and enjoy the beautiful views and sunset. It's not too far from the city and so relaxing! It would make a lovely wedding or party venue too.

Positive: The food was VERY good, although just a bit expensive. The place is small, and private in the morning. It’s more like a bread and breakfast. The scenery was awesome, and the owner (and family) have some of the best stories about the Caribbean. They arranged for a driver to get us from the airport, then to the cruise port. I will certainly recommend them!
Negative: Took a long time for the shower water to get hot. A chair to sit in and read in the evening would have been a nice touch too.
Summary: Unexpectedly delightful place to stay pre-cruise.
