Positive: What a lovely little adults-only hotel! Comfy bed, attentive staff, spectacular lunch every day at the little van round the side of the restaurant. The pool is in a perfect sheltered spot because it was exceptionally windy (that's the East in May for you) and the beach was not an option. Although just a 10/15 minute walk further around the coast and Trou d'eau Douce beach was much more calm. There is an awesome little shop with some really good options for mementoes or gifts. Staff of course were just wonderful - even the guy we thought of as 'grumpy barman' until we got to know him lol. The spa is gorgeous - do yourself a favour and get a treatment there (just avoid nail treatments, it's not their strong suit). Scrub and massages were to die for.
Negative: The live entertainment (sega dancers) was waaaaaayyyy too loud for that covered area. It wasn't enjoyable. They should just stick with the acoustic entertainment or move the music perhaps to the other side of the pool.

Positive: • Food was delicious, lots of choices available at the buffet. • Hotel staffs are nice, friendly and helpful. • There is a free boat shuttle to Île aux cerfs everyday. • We had the villa, the privacy is what we wanted and it was what we got! Private pool with a quiet relaxing area. • Room was clean and well maintained by our housekeeping lady (Kamini), who does really cute towel folding :)
Negative: • Lunch given for picnic at Île au cerfs was left to be desired. • Hotel has no beachfront. • Hotel is quite small.

Positive: We upgraded to a garden suite, and it was extremely comfortable. The initial room we had was dark and musty. Kot No and TabaJay were very good.
Negative: We were on the all-inclusive package. The food at Bor La Mer was not great, very limited variety for a 3*+ rating. The best meals we had were on supplement for Christmas gala and the lobster dinner. The drinks were inconsistent, you would have a Mojito, and it never tasted the same, it was usually way too strong, even if you asked your waiter for just a "normal" drink. It was only when we ordered the alcohol and mixer separately that we could control the strength of our drinks. It was not our first time in Mauritius during December and the rain season, but there was a big mosquito problem at the resort.

Positive: Beautiful view. Boating trip to Ilex aux Cerfs for free Nice swimming pool
Negative: The breakfast could be better. No sweet options. To schedule the massage could be better, you have to wait for the only employee to do the massage and to book for you, I think the hotel could help with that. The boat to island, Amazing! But would be nice to have more time available to go and go out of the island
