Negative: Due to reserving on book it I didn’t realize my room had an outside shower. I had to pay an extra $100+to get an inside bathroom. Thank goodness I did because it was cold weather.

Positive: The complex was cute and it was a great location. The retro kitchenette was adorable and super convenient.
Negative: We did not get the room we booked. It was supposed to be a standalone cottage. Instead, it was part of a building with the office and 3 rooms. It was decorated completely differently from what we booked with heavy dark curtains. There were sugar ants in the bathroom and there was no hot water in the shower. The tiki hut over the outdoor bar had a huge tarp over it.

Positive: The cabin was lovely and quiet. We were able to park right beside the cabin which was great. The kitchenette was good and allowed us to make our own breakfast and keep our drinks cold. The bedroom and bathroom were well appointed. The location was close to a lovely beach and other attractions that we went to. There were also good restaurants nearby.
Negative: I received too many texts from Tropical Cottages and since we were travelling I could not keep up with them. They seems to be renovating and the staff seemed focused on that. We saw the food truck at the front when we arrived and people were eating and drinking at the bar, however when we checked out at 11 AM, we thought the food truck would be opening and we could get a quick lunch before heading out. It was closed up tight with no indication when it or the bar would open. We waited for at least 20 mins and then we asked the staff but they did not have an answer. They offered to call but that did not make sense because we did not know how long it would take someone to arrive and open so we left and found somewhere else to eat. It was too bad.
Summary: We enjoyed our stay in marathon and would come back to the island and to Tropical Cottages.
