5 Bedroom Villa in Ostuni

In this pristine landscape, we can accommodate up to 10 guests very comfortably, i.e. two persons per bedroom.
The main building which has four Trulli and two extensions, includes:
- one main room with an American-style kitchen
- a dining area and a living room with a large flat screen TV
- a large master bedroom, followed closely by a spacious bathroom
A door connects the main building to the "Trullo" part of the house where there are:
- 3 further bedrooms
- a bathroom
- another smaller kitchen/dining room
Separate to the main building, although still attached, is a little "maisonette" which includes a bedroom with an on-suite bathroom, a kitchenette with a dining table and chairs, along with a wardrobe and sofa bed. Originally the rabbits' and chickens' quarters back when our grandparents worked the markets, this part of the villa has now been converted into a lovely quiet private "maisonette" (only available for groups of more than 8 people).

Summary: We were a diverse group of friends of all ages, including a couple of little kids, and we all (8 people altogether) had plenty of space and privacy when desired, and yet it was easy to spend time together, gather for meals, and enjoy the pool. With two kitchens, three dining tables, many pool loungers, and enough places to sneak off to when in want of a nap of or a bit of quiet, the whole property was a fantastic retreat. All the rooms are nicely furnished, spotless, and with enough natural breeze to have no need for the AC even during the hottest of days and nights. Riccardo and family were helpful when needed, and our stay was pleasant and relaxed all the way through. Thank you!

Summary: This is a beautiful place and if you are looking for a quiet relaxing property away from the hurly burly of everyday life then this is it. There were 7 of us and I have to say there was plenty of outside space and we had wonderful weather apart from a couple of thunderstorms. The inside living area would be limited for a lot of people but as I say it wasn’t an issue for us as we really didn’t need to use it. Bedrooms were spacious and comfortable and as we had use of the annexe as well we had 3 bathrooms to use. The property was immaculate. The swimming pool was wonderful and we swam before breakfast and had night swims which were lovely. Any issues and you can catch Ricardo in the mornings when he cleans the pool and he deals with them straight away. We did meet the neighbours dogs and cats a couple of times but as asked we didn’t feed them and they went away. The local area is beautiful Cisternino and Locorotondo are highly recommended and if there are any sagra happening when you are there you should go, we were lucky to arrive the day before the Sagra dell Uva at Casalini and it was fantastic. The restaurant recommendations from Marielise were very good, as was all our interaction with her - really helpful. Loved the area, really friendly local people and would definitely look to return to Apulia.

Summary: Very good villa with excellent pool in good location. Some equipment was of poor quality such as lamps not working, kitchen utensils old, pool parasol broken, collapsed shelf in cupboard in annex, sofa bed very very uncomfortable and should be replaced.

Summary: Stylish and very homely, the Vila afforded all of the home comforts and more! Lovely swimming pool area and set in a truly wonderful trulli style property. The caretaker and family were very helpful too. Sorting out a taxi if we needed it and services in the local town. Thank you very much for a great week.

Summary: We loved our stay in the Maria Leo Trullo. The villa is a great combination of old trulli and a new extension. Plenty of room for a group of 10 adults although you do have to go through the twin bedroom to get to one of the double rooms. Oviously this is great if you have a couple of young children. The other rooms are all separate and the annex is entered from a separate external door so is great for a little more privacy. We were two families and my two nieces loved the annex, which has two 4' wide beds. A car in a must but it is only a short drive into Cisternino. Well worth a visit for a couple of nights during your stay. Starve yourself if you are going to the butcher/restaurants as you will get a huge meat feast.

Summary: Great setting in the countryside, only 5 mins drive from the beautiful town of Cisternino. There is a great sense of space at the Villa with ample parking and well-maintained grounds to walk around. The pool was a decent size, very clean and well lit at night. The Villa itself was lovely with 5 decent bedroom sizes, very clean and a modern kitchen area. The veranda over-looking the pool is a great area to entertain and eat in with good barbeque facilities on the grounds. It was great having the caretaker living beside the villa as he was very responsive and on hand to deal with any issues immediately. There was an excellent selection of local restaurants to choose from. OffTopic in one of the main squares was a very friendly, tasty experience. Zio Petro was a unique dining experience and Il Capricco was probably the most authentic Italian restaurant in the area. It is a bit off the beaten track in terms of location (about 5km from Cisternino) but definitely worth the visit a few times as the food, wine and Ice Cream is fabulous and all locally produced. Cisternino is well located as a base to take day trips to some of the other towns in the area such as Martina Franca, Alberobello and Ostuni and is only a 35min drive from some beautiful places on the coast like Monopoli, San Vito and Poligano a mare. Plus the beaches are only 20 mins drive and are really worth it. Eating out is superb value if you avoid the obvious tourist places and you seldom feel like you are being ripped off in this part of Italy.

Summary: This spacious villa , with trulli, is ideal for family groups and it's setting in attractive gardens, overlooking olive groves, offers total privacy. There is also a large pool with loungers and by the pool, under an olive tree, is a hammock which is ideal for relaxation. Within twenty minutes there are lots of different hilltop towns which offer a wide range of restaurants with delicious food and unspoilt central squares and numerous walk ways. It's a very attractive area and villa and we would recommend it to others.

Summary: We were two families spending a week in Puglia and this was the perfect place for us to stay. The villa is spacious with plenty of room for children to play and relax, for grown ups to cook and eat, and for all of us to enjoy the beautiful pool and its gorgeous setting. We toured the region - 20 minutes to a variety of beaches, 10-20 minutes to some spectacular towns, and near so many great restaurants. We even took a tour of a local olive producer (at Masseria Brancati), which was fabulous, and went for an afternoon at the nearby waterpark. Zio Riccardo was charming and helpful, on hand for anything we needed but unobtrusive (although we would have happily invited him for dinner). Stephanie and Riccardo couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Thank you for a beautiful week :-)
