Unique opportunity to live on a Tug Boat with all of the conveniences of home in a marina in the lakefront community of Fankfort with a quaint downtown and sugar sand beaches of Lake Michigan only minutes away. Fankfort offers: Brew Pubs, restaurants, bakery, art galleries and studios, lighthouses, Betsey Valley bike and hiking trailhead accross the street, Sleeping Bear National Seashore and Interlochen Center for the Arts just 40 minutes away and Traverse City in one hour.
Please be aware that the use of my boat requires that my boat will remain properly tied up to the dock at all times during your stay. Also that since my boat will remain at the dock, that the engine will not be started or operated during your stay. Summary: I went looking for a vacation and a calm, peaceful area. What I found was an excellent choice. Frankfurt is a beautiful town. The beaches are clean, and there are many restaurants and taverns to enjoy. I stayed on McTug to have peace and quiet. That’s exactly what I got. It had everything on board that I would need. The owner of the boat, Ken, was wonderful to work with. He went above and beyond what I have experienced in renting from VRBO properties in the past. Thanks for a restful time away!

Summary: We had a very positive experience on the Little Mc Tug. Our time on it was better than we expected. Everything was clean, and it was unique living on a tug boat for 2 days. The Maple Beach Yacht club offered extra amenities which made the trip perfect. Be sure to go to the Book,Nook and Java Shop in Montegue for good food and daily entertainment. Also don’t miss the White River Light Station. It’s a must. Thanks to our host Ken.

Summary: Great find for a unique experience. The location was perfect for proximity to Lake Michigan, restaurants, nature hikes etc. Beautiful sunsets on Lake Michigan. A 10 minute drive. Close to the Light House Museum in Whitehall. The little tug was small but cozy. Perfect for two people. We had a perfect comfortable restful night sleep. We enjoyed the outside deck.

Summary: Fun experience but sleeping was a bit rough. Possible to sleep 3 but comfortably only 2. Realize that the space inside is very tight! Ken the owner was easy to work with and patient with me. I enjoyed the Little McTug.

Summary: If you haven’t had the experience of sleeping on a boat, be prepared for everything to be small. We had a nice time at the Tugboat. There were two adults and a kiddo. It was pretty tight. The owner was very helpful and provided all the needed details.

Summary: It was so much fun to spend a few days on this little tugboat! It's remarkably well-equipped with supplies for any need, and the memory foam mattress made for good sleeping every night. The boat is moored at a small, relatively quiet marina with clubhouse that has a full kitchen, grill, tv/lounge/game area, and showers. It's close to more recreational activities than I'll take time to list here. The host was gracious, friendly, and helpful, introducing me to the boat's systems and housekeeping necessities, and alert to any concerns I might have had. Communication with him was first rate, from my initial enquiry before booking to the follow-up at the end of my stay. One significant problem developed, but the host responded immediately when I notified him of it, and together we were able to work out a solution. I'm sure the issue won't arise again. My overall rating is 4 stars due to this problem; next time I expect to be able to give the 5 star rating I would like to have given now. A stay on a boat is not for everyone, but for those who like something out of the ordinary, this little tug is a fun choice. I'm ready to go back!
