Take it easy at this peaceful, unique and cosy home. Our space is hidden away in the wee slice of paradise where the Waiau River meets Lake Manapouri. It's a sanctuary for nature and wilderness lovers, nestled into a breathtaking Beech forest. Beautiful birds fill the trees above. Fantastic fish fill the river and lake below. Humble and wondrous, it was built by local legends in the 70s, and is available for the first time ever as visitor accommodation, as of March 2022.

Summary: The house is somewhat quirky- strange mix of retro and old style furniture, strange room layout (no toilet on upper floor). But we loved the location, surrounded by trees, close to the lake, quiet area. Wasn't made clear that the property has another dwelling nearby, but that wasn't a problem. The wood fueled hot tub was a bonus (although a fair bit of work!). Cleaning of spider webs from windows would be an improvement.

Summary: Loved our time in Manapouri. Great spot amongst the trees. The furniture in the lounge and the kitchen cabinets could do with a little TLC, but overall a comfortable spot.

Summary: Great older home in Manapouri. Most of the renters are in camper vans or tents. Some smaller wooden structures to rent, but this is the biggest house. It could accommodate 8 to 10 people maximum. Kitchen upstairs.
