4 Bedroom House in North East

This property makes for a perfect getaway! There are two separate cottages on the property connected by a decking system. They both have a breathtaking view of the lake. Large Deck also overlooks the lake perfect for grilling and socializing. We love our cottages but there are some things you should know, due to the cottages unique location we do have well water which causes it to sometimes smell like sulfur. Every year we get it treated and have a softner. There are water tanks for drinking or cooking. The cottages only get rented together not speperate as only one has a washer and dryer. The lower cottage is on the water so there are MANY Stairs.

Summary: If you love sitting on the water and beautiful sunsets, this is a lovely place, but renter beware! Both homes are clean enough. We enjoyed lots of family time on the lower deck and the patio/fire pit on the water. We came back this summer because of issues last year and an arrangement made for us by the owner. We thought we were coming back to somewhat better circumstances. Let me first say the water has a very strong sulfur smell. There are 5 gallon water dispensers in each home, however, neither of them had water in them. We had to purchase water the entire week for cooking and drinking. If you like living out of a suitcase, you should be fine. The lower cottage main bedroom has no closet or shelves and nowhere to put your clothes other than a suitcase rack. Other than the bathroom, there are no mirrors in the bedrooms. It would be nice to look in the mirror when you’re getting dressed to go out As of the very first day, our coffee maker did not work. I reached out to the owner to let her know. Luckily we were with family that was staying in the upper cottage that made coffee and brought it down to us. Crickets from the owner. Not a word regarding a new coffee maker. This year there was a nice supply of bath towels, but nothing for the kitchen. I could go on…….. For the amount of money you will spend on these 2 cottages more attention to personal details would be nice. For those reasons we would not return.

Summary: We love being at the lake. The place was well kept with regard to maintenance. The biggest issue was the water smell, this can be treated easily, and should be. The cottages were very sweet and they were nicely furnished. We loved the location. Loved the nearby park. We were disappointed that the online picture showed a private setting, lake side with a fire ring. Our family enjoys a campfire. We did determine with the dryness we probably would have not been able to do that anyway. But we set expectations based on the rental information. If it would not have been shown to be there, we would not have expected it to be. Overall though, we had a lovely time and if the water was addressed would love to go back there. Thank you for our stay.

Summary: We had an enjoyable stay here with family and friends and would stay here again. But there were some small issues that didn't allow for a 5-star review in terms of how the unit was prepared and stocked. Also, the picture of the fire pit is deceiving. There was a fire pit on the upper deck, but we couldn't walk down the stairs to the lower area. But we enjoyed small touches for the kids (games, kid's silverware, etc). The view of the lake was beautiful. The beds were comfortable.

Summary: The cottage was great and met all of our needs. The owner was very helpful, met us at the cottage and answered all of our questions. We would stay there again.

Summary: These homes were absolutely beautiful. Very clean and a great view. The homeowner was very nice and was easy to get a hold of if needed. We will be booking here again.
