Positive: Really great value for money if you compare to a standard hotel. The location is amazing if you want to get away from it all and be surrounded by fantastic views and nature. The farmer regularly passes by and is very helpful and friendly. For walkers/ramblers this is gold. We arrived there in cold wind and rain, but the property was already warm and cozy thanks to the underfloor heating, and the log burner is a real bonus for the finishing touch. I will definitely be going back when I visit family next time.

Negative: There was literally nothing I didn't like!

Positive: Self catering. Location was a bit remote which we didn’t realise when booking. However we had been to Betwys y Coed before so managed to find our way around.

Positive: Brilliant location just outside of Capel Curig. The directions to get to the cittage were spot on and parking alongside was fine. The rooms were a good size and tastefully furnished. We loved the animal themed mugs. The kitchen was well equipped but we could have done with a few more glasses. I liked the fact that recycling was made easy with labelled crates in the lobby.

Negative: We couldn’t find the router with the WiFi details so I would suggest the details are included in the information file. We also couldn’t get the TV to work as the five remote controls didn’t seem to match the instructions but it wasn’t a problem as we just played cards instead.

Summary: Great cottage on the route up to Moel Siabod, well placed for a walking holiday in Snowdonia.

Positive: The location was excellent, out in the countryside on the lower slopes of Moel Siabod (a great mountain to climb), with good views down to the valley below. Access is via a steep bumpy track. The property was great, comfortable, clean, practical and well equiped. Parking was available. We had a lovely stay.

Negative: In terms of the visit - nothing really. The property was worth 9. The only reason for giving an 8 was the difficulty I had with Sykes cottages. This property was let through Sykes cottages who had then advertised on Booking.com. I needed to make a change to the booking so needed to make contact. Sykes had somehow got incorrect details via the interface with Booking.com. Unfortuantely there was no way to talk to Sykes, and the only way of communicating seemed to be through my Sykes account. Unfortuantely this did not work for me and there was no way of talking to anyone to put is right. Very frustrating. Eventaully I did manage to make the booking change - but it was a lot of stress !!!

Summary: This is a fantastic, albeit remote property, and a great base for exploring Snowdonia.

Positive: A lovely well renovated cottage in a great location. Although getting there involves driving up a steep windy road, this what brings you to a charming location with amazing views over the valley. Great for walkers.

Negative: Not much to complain about. Maybe the shower is too powerful! Finding your way up to the cottage in the dark can be a bit confusing.
