Home sweet *Magic City Home* Our 3 BR/3 bath home is located in the heart of East Lake. This 1930s house has been fully remodeled, and every room has its own touch of the beautiful city of Birmingham also known as The Magic city! This home is only 6 mins away from the Birmingham airport, less than 10 mins from Uptown which has lots of great restaurants. For all the sport fans, the new and magnificent Protective Stadium and Barons baseball is less than 10 mins away. For the families that love museums, the McWane science center and Vulcan Museum is less than 15 mins away. After a long day of sightseeing, when you come home you will find that house is fully stocked with everything you would need.
Welcome to the Magic city Home in the charming heart of East Lake. Upon arrival around the corner, you will find a Gate that will lead you to the back of the house. Walk to the large black front door that has the digital key pad which will grant you access into the home. As soon as you walk in make yourself at home with the newly renovated living room. To your right the gorgeous master bedroom has a king bed with its own luxurious private bathroom. Out to the hallway is our second full bathroom and next to that the fabulous second bedroom with a queen bed.
In the main level you will also find the fully stocked kitchen and dining table. We have complementary snacks and coffee upon your arrival. Down to the right watch out for the stairs which leads you to the third bedroom with a queen bed and its own bathroom. next to the bedroom you will find a sliding door that leads to the game room and laundry room. The game room features a beautiful cozy fireplace with a twin pull out sofa. Gather your family or friends because the game room has everything you need to have a good time including a pool table, games, and bar area.
Now let’s talk about the outside of our Magic City Home. We have a deck with an outdoor seating where you can enjoy your cup of coffee in the morning. Down to our backyard we have a beautiful handcrafted wood burning fireplace for the cold days and next to that we have the outdoor grilling station for the summer days of barbecue.

Summary: The house is very cute, decorated well and did not take long to get to many of our destinations in Birmingham. Lower level bedroom could use a bit of a better clean up as we found a dead bug and bug trap, but it is located near the garage door, so bugs are inevitable. Host was helpful in letting us check in a little early. We did not utilize a lot of the outdoor amenities but they seemed nice. Neighborhood was not the greatest, with a lot of people loitering in the evening, but great in terms of proximity to other things in Birmingham. I would stay here again for sure, and we enjoyed ourselves.

Summary: The house is an older home in an older neighborhood of Birmingham, but you would not be able to tell when you step inside this gem. The updates and attention to detail could be seen all throughout the house. The kitchen is gorgeous with white marble countertops, and a huge island for everyone to gather. It also came with a dishwasher, microwave, blender, coffee maker, air fryer, and a full array of dishes and utensils. My teenage son loved the fact that his bedroom was on the ground floor with his own full bath. Speaking of the bathrooms, there were all equipped with the wonderful rainfall shower heads that kept me in there longer than needed! Many hours were spent playing pool or sitting on the back deck, either listening to the cicadas or enjoying a fire at night. The other reviews mentioned the neighborhood, which admittedly was not great. However, the gated driveway, cameras, and security that have been implemented made us feel very secure. It was a quiet neighborhood, with not a lot of traffic. With only about a 10-15 minute drive to Downtown Birmingham, this house is an absolute steal of a deal.

Summary: The house looks just like the pictures. You can tell the owner put thought into it. We enjoyed staying here. There are a few problems with the place but nothing that isn't easily fixed. One issue was the seating. I don't know why there would only be three chairs around the kitchen table. Three bar stools in the kitchen. Three chairs around the table near the pool table. There are other seats, but we were really wanting to sit and play some cards but there wasn't anywhere really fitting for it. The pool table was a smart add to the basement and it really played a big part in renting this specific unit. There were plenty of sticks to choose from as well as chalk and a table brush. The pool table itself is nowhere close the being level which made it pretty difficult to have a good game on it. You can tell they tried to level it but the ground is just jacked up. Still was a good time just messin' around on it. This house also has a gym listed but the only sign of any workout equipment was a dumbbell in the closet in the basement. The showers are pretty nice in the place. We use the master shower on the main level and the shower in the basement. Both worked well, had great pressure, and were very clean. The linen for the bathrooms were very nice plush. We didn't use the shampoo and such that were provided because we brought our own. We never used the kitchen other than getting ice from the freezer. 5 Stars for this house and owner. RENT THIS PLACE!

Summary: So first of all, the house and property are great. Communication with owners is fantastic, house was clean, and fenced in yard were good for the dog to play fetch. We even had an issue on Thanksgiving Day with the oven and the owners sent someone over to resolve that day. Appliances were fantastic and kitchen was well stocked. However, I do want to share with potential renters, that the neighborhood is rough. This is the only property that I observed that has "transitioned" or been updated. We had zero issues, but renters need to feel comfortable and safe with the neighborhood in which they rent. It does appear that the house by the entrance gate on the east side of the property is a drug house with people stopping by and entering at various times throughout the day. I am speculating of course, but it was suspicious. That being said there were no issues, but just want people to be aware. All that being said, we would rent this property again.

Summary: My husband and I and our three children stayed at this location over a long weekend. My daughter was getting married. The house was clean and orderly and well-stocked. The beds were comfortable. Our 23-year-old son enjoyed the privacy of the downstairs area with the pool table, it’s on seating area, and separate bedroom and bathroom. We appreciated that the house was pet friendly, so we were able to bring our babies with us. The only thing I would mention is that if you have small children, you may need a baby gate to go over the top of the stairs going down to the bottom floor. The stairs are incredibly steep. Also, if you have elderly guest or you yourself have a hard time climbing stairs, you may not want to choose this house but overall it was a great weekend and we would definitely stay there again.

Summary: Our two sons and their families met us in Birmingham. One lives close but the other lives several hours away. We stayed at the house with our youngest son and family. They have twins age 4 and we we’re celebrating their birthday. We visited the McWane Center and the Zoo. The house was convenient to both. The house was a perfect fit for us. We needed to stay on the bottom floor and we had a lovely bathroom attached to our room. The upstairs was nicely renovated as was the basement. We had plenty of room for the children to play and there were lots of games and books. We ordered dinner in both nights and had no problems with them finding the house. I would recommend this house to anyone planning to visit the Birmingham area. So much more space than a hotel but with amenities.

Summary: Can't say enough wonderful things about this home. So beautifully and thoughtfully decorated. Lots of space. Games, pool table and putting green for fun with the family. Lucy was kind and super responsive host. I accidentally locked us out and she got us in in a jiffy. The neighbors in the area were really great folks. We had a great time... highly recommend staying here.

Summary: This lovely and unique property was the perfect home base for our group (2 families with teens) while we explored the Magic City. The home was spacious, comfortable and exactly as described. Within a very reasonable driving distance to Birmingham, we ventured downtown often. Our only regret is not scheduling some down time and booking a longer stay!
