A special place to rest your soul (and your feet!) after experiencing all the Okanagan has to offer! This Guest House is fully compliant with the new Short Term Rental rules put in place by the British Columbia government. It is located well within Penticton on a working Organic Farm minutes to Skaha Lake.
Built by the owner and his children using sustainable building practices the Straw Bale Guest House is sure to delight and inspire you. The all natural eco-friendly earth plaster interior promotes a feeling of well being.
The 520 square foot guest house has one bedroom equipped with a queen size bed with a pillow top mattress, quality linens, plump pillows and a duvet. The window overlooks the back yard with views of lavender and horses in the field.
The main living area encompasses a sitting area, dining area, and a kitchenette. There is a queen size murphy bed, increasing the sleeping options to 4. The sitting area has a view of Skaha Lake through the window. The kitchenette consists of a fridge, toaster oven, Keruig coffee maker, electric kettle, blender and all of the kitchen items needed to prepare meals. There is a propane bar-b-que on the front patio with a side burner for extra cooking options.
The large bathroom has a unique rock walled walk in rain shower.
The south facing patio out the front door has chairs to relax in and a bistro table to enjoy dining with a view of Skaha Lake.
A hot tub and a 20x40 swimming pool are available for guests to use.

Summary: We had a wonderful time at this property, enjoying the pool and gorgeous setting. The host is fantastic to work with and accommodating in all respects; the little cottage included all the little things you need to prepare meals, which almost never happens. We stayed as a small group (two adults, one child) and the little space worked well for us. Bonus points for proximity to a great winery (Pentage) and the best beach. We'll be back-- thank you!

Summary: Very nice clean place and fun to wake up to horses and deer in the yard. Not having a kitchen sink or a stove was a bit of an issue but we managed to work around it. Really nice, helpful people to deal with during our stay.

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Straw Bale House. The pool is fantastic and was nice added bonus having our supper barbecues. Colleen is a wonderful, lovely hostess who goes the extra mile to make sure everything is perfect. Would definitely recommend staying here to family & friends.
